Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, at the Brockville General Hospital on Sunday July 13, 2014; Rachel Kathleen "Kay" Thomson (Nee Coxford), at the age of 94 years. A native of Almonte, Ontario and long time resident of Mississauga, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Ila Coxford. Wife of the late Cyril "Mac" Thomson. Dearly loved mother of Paul Thomson (Barbara), Ross Thomson (Barbara), John Thomson (Susanne), and the late Peter Thomson. Cherished grandmother of Scott (late), Daniel, Peter, Kathleen, Kristin, Heather and Lesley; and great-grandmother of Caitlyn, Troy, Bradley, Dylan, Taylor, Kalia and Samantha. She was predeceased by her brother Edwin Coxford and by sisters Elizabeth Duncan and Ruth Fresque.

Family and friends are invited to a ceremony in celebration of Kathleen's life to be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 8, 2014 at Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville. Following the service a gathering will take place in the Reception Centre. Private interment at Auld Kirk Cemetery, Almonte. In remembrance, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association will be gratefully acknowledged.

Daniel Thomson
Daniel James Thomson of Almonte, died suddenly after a heart seizure yesterday at Almonte Hospital. He was 83. Son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Thomson, of Portage du Fort, he was born at Litchfield, Que. He was educated at the Portage du Fort Public School, and was a culler scaler for 50 years. He had worked for J. R. Booth Company and other Quebec and Ontario firms. He married Mildred Maude Turner of Almonte, in 1906. He leaves: his wife; four sons, Claude and Cecil of Almonte, Howard of Carleton Place, and C. M. Thomson of Port Credit; four brothers, Enderby, of Vancouver, B.C., Kenneth, of North Bay, Clifford of Port Neuf, Que., and Farrell In Flint, Michigan; two sisters, Mrs. Ruben Henderson and Mrs. Herbert Price, both of Hamilton. The funeral will be held at 2.00 Thursday, from the home of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Thomson on Richey Street to St. Paul's Anglican Church. Canon J. W. R. Meakin will officiate. Burial will be at St. Paul's Anglican Cemetery.

Obituary: Mrs. Herb Coxford

A long time resident of Almonte, Sarah Ila Scott Coxford passed away at the Almonte Nursing Home, after a lengthy illness, on Monday November 4th. in her 88th year.
Born at clayton, Ontario, on April 12th 1887, she was the eldest daughter of William Henry Scott and Rachel Evans. Several years later the family moved to Almonte.
In 1910 she married Herbert L. Coxford, of Almonte, who predeceased her in 1964. She was a member of Almonte United Church and in her younger years took part in many organizations of the Church.
She is survived by one son, and three daughters: Edwin, winnipeg; elizabeth (Mrs R. Duncan), Almonte; Kathleen (Mrs C. M. Thomson) Mississauga; Ruth. (Mrs K. Fresque), Ottawa; and twelve grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Surviving is a sister, Bessie (Mrs George Van Iderstine), Saskatoon. Four brothers and one sister predeceaseed her, Harvey, Eddie, Alston, James and Lucy (Mrs Frank Snow)
the funeral was held November 6th, 1974, from the Kerry Funeral Home in Almonte, rev Robert McCrea of the Almonte United Church conducted the service. Interment was in the Auld Kirk Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Donald Johnston, Edward Scott, John Thomson, Donald Duncan, Eric Fresque and Dwight Christensen.
