    William Dickson of 2224 4th Ave. N.W., died Friday after a short illness at the age of 83.

    Coming to Calgary in 1918 from Renfrew County, Ont., Mr. Dickson was employed as a mechanic by the International Harvester Company until retiring 15 years ago.

    His wife, Maggie, died in 1940 and his son, Claude Hempton in 1954. Surviving are three brothers, David of Wiseton, Sask., Robert of Dominion City, Man., and Jack of Winnipeg; and three grandchildren.

    Rev. A.F. Miller will conduct the funeral service in McInnis and Holloway Funeral Home Monday at 1:30 p.m. with burial in the family plot, Burnsland cemetery.

    Surviving are her husband William, and one son, Claude H., of Calgary. Funeral services will be conducted at the Park Memorial chapel on Wednesday at 3:45 o'clock with Rev. E. Melville Aitken officiating. Interment will be in the Burnsland cemetery.

    Robert Hempton Sr., a pioneer resident of this district, died Sunday. He was born in Ireland 75 years ago. He came to Dominion City in 1880, taking up a homestead. He leaves to mourn his loss, a widow, two sons, Robert and W.J. Hempton, and one daughter, Mrs. William Dickson. The funeral was held on Monday from the Presbyterian Church, of which Mr. Hempton was a member.

    Mr. Wm. Scott, the well-known farmer of the 3rd line of Ramsay, died on Saturday last, from an attack of heart failure, and was buried in the cemetery at Boyd's Settlement on Monday, the funeral being largely attended. The late Mr. Scott was born in Ireland 78 years ago, and came to Canada in 1849 - forty-four years ago. He spent those forty-four years in Ramsay township. Mr. Scott was married three times, and had sixteen children, thirteen of whom survive, with fifty-three grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren, to mourn his loss.

    Notes:

    Six children were born. Two of these died of typhoid fever during the 6 weeks ocean crossing to Canada in 1846. One note says one was buried at sea and the other at Quebec.

    Another child James and the mother died also (believed to have been after arrival in Ramsay twp). Margaret, Robert & Eliza survived.

    5. 7. Margaret Scott was born on 5 Jan 1839 in Keady, County Armagh, Northern Ireland; died on 19 Jun 1916 in Dominion City Cemetery, Dominion City, Steinbach Census Division, , Manitoba, Canada.
    6. Robert O. Scott was born on 25 Dec 1841 in Belfast, County Antrim, Northern Ireland; died on 21 Dec 1925 in Dominion City, Steinbach Census Division, Manitoba, Canada; was buried on 23 Dec 1925 in Dominion City Cemetery, Dominion City, Steinbach Census Division, , Manitoba, Canada.
