With heavy hearts, the family of Don Siemens announces his passing on Saturday, November 9, 2019 in Calgary, AB. He graduated from the University of Saskatchewan in 1955 (Geology). Don played basketball with the Huskies during his time at U of S, which led to a life-long love of the sport. Don enjoyed life to the fullest. Time with friends and neighbours, coaching Triwood girls Softball, holiday travels, and family gatherings were always full of fun and laughter, providing so many lasting memories of a wonderful, kind man. He was always quick with a story or joke, and loved sports and games. He was an avid golfer and curler, and loved playing pool and cards with his friends, often at the Legion. His years in the oilfield, and involvement in various business ventures made for an interesting and fulfilling life. Don was a wonderful husband to Dorothy, father to Katherine, Maureen (Stephen), and Laurie (Todd); grandfather to Jessica (Dave), Meagan (Steve), Abby (Kyle), Trevor (Annie); and great-grandfather to four little ones, Mack, Elsie, Eddie, and Ivy, who lovingly called him GG. At Don's request, there will be no funeral service. Condolences may be forwarded through www.MclnnisandHolloway.com. The family would like to thank the doctors and wonderful staff at Rosedale Hospice for their kind and compassionate care. A tree will be planted in living memory of Don Siemens. Mclrtnis
