The death occurred in the Rosamond Memorial Hospital, Almonte, on Monday Nov 7th of Mrs Peter J. Campbell. She was in her 95th year and had been in failing health for some time. Mrs Campbell was the former Flora Helen McDonald and was born on a farm on the 10th line of Ramsay, a daughter of John McDonald and his wife Agnes Bayne. The family moved to Pakenham Village when she was a young child and resided there for 16 years after which they removed to Almonte. In 1896 she was married to the late Peter J. Campbell and in 1904 they removed to Blakeney where Mr Campbell owned a textile mill located on the island below the bridge. In 1918, the family returned to Almonte where Mr Campbell had established a textile mill in a building formerly occupied by the Ker-Ben foundry. In 1928 this plant was destroyed by fire and Mr Campbell retired, continuing to reside until his death in the residence on Elgin Street still occupied by his son, Reeve D.M. Campbell and Mrs Campbell of this town. As long as she was able, Mrs Campbell took an active interest in Bethany, now Almonte United Church and at the time of her death she was the oldest member. She is survived by a son Donald M., and a daughter Miss Agnes M. Campbell. The funeral was held on Wednesday, Nov 9th from the Comba Funeral Home to the Auld Kirk Cemetery. Service were conducted by Rev F.C. Gerard. Pallbearers were Messrs Lorne James, Almonte; Howard Dack and Norman White of Carleton Place; D.B. Taylor of Ottawa and C.J.
