Catherine "Katie" Cain, age 83, of Manitowoc, died on Sunday morning, Jan. 6, 2008, at her residence.

Katie was born on Nov. 14, 1924, in Nadeau, Mich., daughter of the late Clarence and Lena (Thiry) Servais. On May 5, 1922, she married Gordan Cain in Waukegan, Ill. The couple celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary on May 5, 1999. Gordon preceded her in death on April 13, 2000.

Katie is survived by her daughter: Mary Christine Krogh, Two Rivers; one son and daughter-in-law: John and Vicki Cain, Valders; six grandchildren: Daniel Luebke and significant other, Jenine; Shawn (Melissa) Luebke; Lena (Chris) Moder; Chad (Nicole) Luebke; Sheri (Corie) Denault; and Tanyia VanWagoner and fianc?, Matt Sorenson; 10 great-grandchildren: Cassie, Alex, Hannah, D.J., Trevor, Trinton, Traven, Kamdyn, Kiana and Kaitlyn; and two sisters and one brother-in-law: Lucille Renier, Sturgeon Bay; and Margaret and Louis Skinkis, Rio Creek. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Katie was preceded in death by one sister: Virginia.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2008, at the Pfeffer Funeral Home and Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, and at 10:30 a.m., on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2008, at St. Francis of Assisi on Marshall. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Carl Schmitt, with entombment to follow at Calvary Mausoleum, Manitowoc.

Catherine married Gordon P. Cain on 5 May 1952 in Waukegan, Lake County, Illinois, United States. Gordon (son of John Phiilip Cain and Jeanette Jane "Nettie" Hempton) was born on 8 Dec 1924 in Manitowoc County, Wisconsin, United States; died on 13 Apr 2000 in Manitowoc, Manitowoc County, Wisconsin, United States; was buried in Calvary Chapel Mausoleum, Manitowoc, Manitowoc County, Wisconsin, United States.
