Isabella married David Sutherland in 1883. William Russell was a popular high school teacher at Almonte High School when he died in his prime. He left a widow, Catherine Wilson Russell, and four young children.

Sadly, there is no headstone.

William married Catherine Wilson in 1859. Catherine was born on 12 Jan 1840 in Almonte, Lanark County, Canada West; died on 19 Apr 1930 in Saint-Boniface, Greater Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada; was buried in Apr 1930 in MacGregor, Central Manitoba Census Division, Manitoba, Canada. Died:
After her husband died, leaving her with four small children, Catherine made her way as a seamstress and made sure each of her children got as much education as possible.

As her children grew and went their separate ways, she lived near each for some period of time, both in the States and in Manitoba. She spent her final two years in a nursing home in Winnipeg and was buried near where her daughter Bella was living at the time, in North Norfolk, Manitoba.

William Russell was a currier who owned a small factory that prepared leather for use in Almonte's shoe factories. He was a devout Baptist and lifelong Reformer.

He and his wife Jean were the parents of ten children.

William married Jean Kelly in 1827. Jean was born on 24 Feb 1804 in Irvine, North Aryrshire, Ayrshire and Arran, Scotland; died on 13 Jan 1869 in Almonte, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada; was buried in 1869 in Ramsay, Mississippi Mills, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
