Clifford was an honoured lifetime member and Paul Harris Fellow of the West Ottawa Rotary Club.     ASHTON.?/b? Jan. 23 - Ashton lost one of its most respected citizens last evenlng In the person of Howard Simpson, who passed away at his home on the 9th concession of Goulboum, In his 70th year. Mr. Simpson lived In Ashton all his life and was a diligent and successful farmer.
    0n July 10, 1895, he was marrled to Miss Annie Simpson of Ashton. who survives him. He also leaves three sons, Russell at home, and Roy and Austin In Ottawa. A daughter, Edna died in 1919. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters, Mrs Andrew Fleming of Brandon, Man . Mrs Martin of North Bay, Mrs Richard Dowdall of Carleton Place, Mrs Riggs of Wlnnipeg, Man. Homer of Beckwlth and Weslev ot Ashton.
    The funeral will take place from his late residence on Friday afternoon at 1:30 oclock to Dewar cemetery The servlce will he conducted bv the Rev J. H Hewart.
