    Peacefully at Alexander Muir Retirement Residence in Newmarket on Sunday, January 14, 1996. Beloved wife of Arthur and loving mother of Eleanor and her husband Hugh Benham of Regina and Wendy Sims and her late husband John. Sadly missed by her grandchildren Hugh, Steve, Barb, Rob, Warren and Colin and also her 8 great grandchildren. Sister-in-law of Eleanor Hamilton. Predeceased by her brother Mac Hamilton. A Memorial Service will be held at the Marshall Fu neral Home, 10366 Yonge Street, Richmond Hill, on Saturday, January 20, 1 996, at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers a memorial donation to the First United Church, Kent Street, Ottawa, would be appreciated by the family.

    ?/b?Friends will regret to hear of the death today in a local hospital of William John Hamilton, beloved husband of Elizabeth Dunn Caldwell. Mr. Hamilton was in his 67th. year.?b?
    ?/b?He was born in Ottawa, the son of the late George Hamilton and Margaret Boyd, and received his education here. Upon leaving school he entered the carpentry trade. In 1917 he moved to Shawville, returning to Ottawa in 1927.
    He married the former Eleanor McMurtry in 1904, One son, George (Mac) of Hamilton and one daughter, Mrs. A Jewkes of Ottawa were born to them. His wife predeceased him in 1936. In 1939 he married Elizabeth D. Caldwell. The family residence is at 207 Hawthorne Avenue.
    Besides his widow and two children, he is survived by a stepson, Sergent D. S. Caldwell, overseas; a sister, Miss Mary Hamilton, Metcalfe, Ont., and two grandchildren. The remains are resting at Hulse and Playfair Ltd., 315 McLeod street, where the funeral service wilkl take place in the chapel on Saturday at 3 p.m. Interment will be in Merivale cemetery.
