    CAVERS, Victoria ? In hospital Smiths Falls on Saturday, September 29, 1990. Victoria Pearl Lee. In Her 71st Year. Wife of the late Harold Cavers. Loved mother of Susan (Mrs Richard Rogers) of R.R. #2, Portland; Lee Cavers and Sharon (Mrs Horace Dalli) both of Toronto; Eileen Lay of Carleton Place; Brian Cavers of Ottawa. Sister of Mrs Betty Jessup of Thunder Bay. Also survived by 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Friends called at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, Smiths Falls. Funeral service was in the Chapel on Tuesday. Interment Auld Kirk Cemetery, Almonte.

    THOMAS EDGAR CAVERS
    The funeral of Thomas Edgar Cavers took place December 26th from the Fleming Bros. Funeral Home, Lake Ave. West, Carleton Place to the United Cemetery for interment. Rev. J. Ray Anderson of Almonte conducted the service. Mr. Cavers died in the R. M. Hospital, Almonte, on December 23 after a short illness. He was 74 years of age and was born February 9th, 1882 in Ramsay Township, son of the late Thomas Cavers and his wife, Margaret Miller Thom. He had farmed for years in Ramsay and attended Appleton United Church. He was married in June, 1915, to the former Bessie May McNab. Surviving besides his widow are two sons, Harold of Toronto; Melville of Almonte, a daughter (Agnes), Mrs. Tudor of Perth, a brother, James of Carleton Place and a half sister, Miss Margaret Cavers of Almonte. The pallbearers were Messrs. Ollie Stewart, Victor Kellough, Duncan Stewart, Stewart Cavers, John Lowe and Edward Lowe. Among the beautiful floral tributes were pieces from Almonte Legion, Weaving Room of Collie's mill, Appleton W.I.. Appleton W.A

    Bessie May McNabb Cavers, Nel-Gor Castle Nursing Home, Carleton Place, died April 18, at the age of 87 Mrs Cavers was born May 23, 1892. in Ramsay township, the daughter of the late David McNabb and Agnes Kellough On June 30. 1915, she married the late Thomas Edgar Cavers, a farmer, in Appleton Mrs Cavers was a member of Zion Memorial United Church, a charter member of the Appleton Women's Institute, and a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion, branch 240 She was the mother of the late Frank and Harold Cavers, and the sister of the late David, George, and Welland McNabb. Mrs Cavers is survived by her daughter Agnes Tudor, of Toronto, and her son Melville Cavers, of Almonte A public funeral was held April 21 from the Alan Barker Funeral Home The service was conducted by Reverend Mitchell. Burial took place at the United Cemeteries. Ashton Mrs Cavers pallbearers were Tom Proctor, Delbert Barr, Art Fulton, Doug Stewart, Bert McRae, and Bill Struthers

    Mr Thomas Cavers
    The oldest resident in this vicinity was called away by death on Sunday evening, in the person of Mr Thos Cavers of the 12th line of Ramsay. Mr Cavers was in his 85th year. He had been ill about two weeks and had been ministered to with loving care by his daughter, Miss Margaret Cavers R.N. Mr Caver was born in Beckwith on the farm now owned by Mr Orville Turner. A Liberal in politics, Presbyterian in religion until the union, wen he entered the United Church in Appleton. He was very much respected by his friends and neighbours for his kindly, gentle nature and his upright honourable conduct in all things. He is survived by his daughter, Miss Margaret Cavers R.N. and three sons, Edgar on the home farm, Willie, a dispatcher on the C.P.R., near Sudbury, and James in Carleton Place. Five brothers and three sisters also survive. The brothers are James of Hamilton, Peter of Detroit, William of Arnprior, Edward of Pilot Mound, and Alexander of Carleton Place. The sisters are Mrs Jane Fummerton, Mrs Lester of Ottawa and Miss Tena of Carleton Place. Two daughters Mary and Jean, and two sons predeceased him. The funeral on Tuesday was under the auspices of the United Church, conducted by Rev Terrill, his minister, to the 8th line cemetery. Mr William Cavers of Arnprior came for the funeral, also Mr Wm Cavers Jr., C.P.R. dispatcher and wife and child were among the mourners.

    The home of Mr Thos Cavers of Ramsay was rendered sad by the death on the eve of Thanksgiving Day of the wife and mother. Mrs Cavers was ill a couple of weeks before her death, and suffered severely from an abscess in her head. Dr. Minnes of Ottawa was called in consultation with her family physician, but nothing could be done to save her life, the main trouble being Bright's disease. Deceased was a daughter of the late John Thom, and was fifty years of age. twenty-six years ago she was married to Mr. Cavers, and to them seven children were born, two of whom are dead. Those living are: John C. at Carleton Place, and Thomas E., William, Mary, and James at home. Miss Mary Thom of Almonte is a sister, and Messrs. John Thom of Ramsay and Rev, George Thom of Allandale, brothers of the deceased. The funeral took place on Tuesday afternoon, the service at the home being private, owing to illness in the home, but many friends joined the cortege to the eighth line cemetery, thus showing esteem for the dead and sympathy with the living in their bereavement
