    ARTHUR TAYLOR Peacefully, on Saturday, June 22, 2002, at the St. Boniface Hospital, Arthur Taylor passed away at 87 years of age. Arthur is now with his wife Norma; daughter Pam; son-in-law Brian Kliewer; and grandchildren, Lisa and Michael Kliewer; also predeceased by his sisters, Grace Amos and Effie Gammon. Arthur is survived by his brother Robert (Rose) Taylor; sister Mildred Lappage; nephews, Ron Lappage (Sandra), Jim Sims (Liann), Richard Taylor; nieces, Darragh Zaroski (John), Glenice Naiman (Adam), Patricia Bowers, Brenda Ritsema (Ed) sisters-in-law, Roma Duncan, Gert Naugler, and Nina Knowlton. Arthur was born in 1914 at Beinfait, SK (where his father was the station agent). Arthurs father and the family moved to Dryden, ON, where Arthur spent his school years. In 1935 Arthur enlisted in the Air Force, after many transfers across the country he got posted to Winnipeg in 1955 and retired from the Air Force in 1965 as a Warrant Officer, First Class. He then was employed by the Manitoba Government, retiring in 1978. Thanks to the doctors and nurses at St. Boniface Hospital for the care and comfort given. Special thanks to family and friends for their company and support in the last week of his life. A special thanks to Freeman Meyers, who spent a great deal of time with Arthur since Norma passed away. Memorial service will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., on Friday, June 28 at 12:30 p.m. with Rev. Quering officiating. A gathering of family and friends will follow the service in the Chapel Lawn Reception Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of ones choice. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY AND CREMATORIUM 885-9715.

    (Research):George Caskey notes: the church records have been recopied and the dates of 3 entries omitted - closest date range - between Sept 1 and Dec 15 1871. Robert Caskey, older brother of James was best man, d. 23 Feb 1906 at age 59.
    James with brothers moved to Sandpoint (address on marriage certificate) - a lumbering center. It is anticipated that the Caskey men were engaged in lumbering.

    Irish descent, lived on 9th line, Ramsay Twp.
    School teacher, clerk of the Twp of Ramsay 1903, bookkeeper for 3 cheese factories in Ramsay Township. Known for his excellent penmanship.
    Caskey boys moved to Winnipeg in 1902 and worked in printing and capentering. James, with daughters Margaret and Agnes to Winnipeg in 1903, Jane Elizabeth remained behind with mother and continued to maintain the records for the 3 creameries. He returned to Almonte and in 1904 his wife and 'Jennie' moved to Winnipeg. He worked as a carpenter until his sudden death in1906.
    The family lived on Manitoba Ave. near Main St. in N. Winnipeg.

    Built a house at 312 Perth St. Almonte, about 1875.

    Mrs. Elizabeth (Duncan) Caskey, a resident of Winnipeg for 36 years, died Sunday In her 95th year. She was the widow of James Caskey, who died In 1907 and had resided with her daughters, Mrs. J. Coulter, of 1057 Logan Ave.
    Born in 1846 in Almonte, Ont., Mrs. Caskey came west In 1905. She is survived by three daughters: Mrs. Coulter; Mrs. A. Taylor, Dryden. Ont., and Mrs. O. C. Feetham, Winnipeg; four sons: Andrew and James, Winnipeg; John, Bateman, Sask., and Robert, Kincaid. Sask.; also 26 grandchildren and five great - grandchildren. The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 1.30 p.m. in Mordue's funeral chapel, with burial In the family plot in Elmwood cemetery. Dr. G. A. Woodside will officiate.
