Stanley was married to Alice Ione Marquis at Jackson County, Missouri on July 11, 1911, and had been living in B.C. for 45 years at the time of his death.
He was a medical doctor for 58 years, retiring in 1954, and had served during WWI with the 13th O/S Field Ambulance. He had previously served with the Pioneer Canadian Militia from 1903-1908 and the 18th F.A. from 1911-1916.
