Mrs. Ai (Pat) Griffitts, 1 South Market St., died this morning in Newman Memorial County Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Roberts-Blue-Barnett Chapel, conducted by the Rev. W. Howard Holverson, pastor of the First Christian Church. Burial will be in the Maplewood Cemetery.
Effie May Hilton, the daughter of John and Anna Farr Hilton, was born March 13th, 1889 in Peru, Iowa, and she was married to Ai Griffitts, Nov. 11th, 1905, in Emporia. She was a member of the First Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, who died Jan. 5th, 1959, and by three sons, and she is survived by three sons, George of San Fernando, Calif., Jess of Reno, Nev., and Frank, of Scottsdale, Ariz.; five daughters,Mrs. George Kelly, 204 East Tenth Ave., Mrs. George T. O'Connell, Ottawa (KS), Mrs. W. C. Bollinger, Kansas City, Kan., Mrs. H. R. Hostettler, 853 West Fifth Ave., and Miss Elaine Griffitts, Houston, Tex., one brother, Frank Hilton and one sister, Mrs. G. W. John Gilbertson Hilton, 73, former resident of Emporia, died at midnight Sunday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. L. Brooks (Lashbrook), at Kansas City. The body will be brought to Emporia Tuesday (5 Aug. 1930) for funeral services at 4 o'clock at the Roberts-Blue chapel. Rev. W. D. McMullen will conduct the services. Interment will be in Maplewood cemetery. Mr. Gilbertson [sic] is survived by six children. Mrs. Brooks (Lashbrook), of Kansas City; Walter Hilton, Frank Hilton and Mrs. Ai Griffitts of Emporia; George and Guy Hilton of El Dorado, and one sister, Mrs. W. B. Marshall of Attica. Mrs. Anna B. Hilton died last evening at the home of her son, W. E. Hilton, 801 West Fifth Avenue.
Mrs. Hilton was born in Marion County, Iowa in September, 1860. She is survived by her husband, John Hilton, four sons and two daughters. They are Mrs. Effie Griffith of Emporia, Mrs. Gussie Lashbrook of Kansas City, W. E. Hilton, George Hilton, Guy Hilton and Frank Hilton all of Emporia.

Word has been received from Missouri of the death of Uncle John Hilton. He died at the home of his son, John, December 17. He was an early settler and a long time resident of this county, and a prominent figure in justices' courts.
