DEATHS
BURGESS, Gilbert - In Edmonton, Alta., on Thursday, September 13, 1956, Gilbert Burgess, formerly of Ottawa, in his 71st year, husband of the late Sarah Evelyn Hamilton, father of Mrs C.S. Skidmore, of Ottawa, and brother of Mrs Graham Bell, Mrs A.G. Woolsey and Miss Marion Burgess all of Ottawa, and Mrs G.C. MacLean, of Edmonton. Funeral service was held in the Roy and Owen Chapel of Chimes, Edmonton, Saturday, September 15, followed by cremation. Interment will take place in the family plot at Auld Kirk cemetery, Almonte.

Samuel married Sarah Evelyn Hamilton in 1918. Sarah (daughter of John Neilson Hamilton and Annie Kinnaird) was born on 15 Jan 1895 in Almonte, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada; died on 27 Jan 1928 in Ottawa, Carleton County, Ontario, Canada; was buried in Auld Kirk Cemetery, Ramsay, Mississippi Mills, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada.
