Alice E. Betts, Plans Wedding, Westfield - Mr. and Mrs Raymond Livingston Betts of 754 Fairacres Ave. have announced the engagement of their daughter, Miss Alice Elizabeth Betts, to Navy Ens. Mark Bedford Slater Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Mark B. Slater of Bronxville, N. Y. Miss Betts, a 1959 alumna of Westfield High School, was graduated last month from Duke University, Durham, N.C., where she received a B.S. degree in nursing. Ensign Slater is a 1961 graduate of Duke University with a B.A. degree in business administration. He was a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity. - Assigned to the destroyer USS Cony, he is sta tioned at Norfolk, Va.
