On Saturday there passed away one who had for many years been a much respected of the township of Ramsay. She had lived since the death of her husband with her daughter, Mrs Alex Fulton, at Cedar Hill. On Friday she was taken with a weak turn, and gradually sank until Saturday, when she slept away. She eighty years of age, had cared for a large family of children, and had taken her place in bearing the burdens which pioneer life laid upon the shoulders of those who lived in those years. The funeral took place on Tuesday to the eighth line cemetery, Ramsay, and was attended by friends, who had learned to respect her and value her for the qualities of head and heart which win approbation and appreciation.

Elizabeth married Alexander Sutherland in 1853.
