    Suddenly in hospital, at Ottawa, Ontario, on Sunday, January 31, 1982, Lyle Conley Nichols, in his 62nd year. Beloved husband of Georgina Ruth Barr, Dear father of Ross Conley of Calgary; Glenda Ruth of Ottawa; Lois Ann Plunkett of Bancroff; Paul Alexander, Moose Jaw; Allison Pearl, Carleton Place. Dear son of Mrs Sarah Nicols and the late Daniel Nichols. dear brother of Beverly of Kingston; Howard of Calgary; Lois (Mrs Jack Wilson), Carleton Place. Resting at the Alan R. Barker Funeral Home, McArthur Ave., Carleton Place, on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. service in the chapel on Wednesday at 2 p.m. Spring Interment Auld Kirk Cemetery, Almonte.

    Lyle Conley Nichols of 55 Lake Avenue, Carleton Place died suddenly in Ottawa January 31. He was 61. He was born March 22, 1920 in Carleton Place, the son of Daniel Conley and Sarah Ann Ashby. He was a lifelong resident of Carleton Place. On May 22, 1954 he married Georgina Ruth Barr at Almonte Presbyterian Church. Prior to retiring in March 1980 he was employed as a residential counsellor at Rideau Regional Centre in Smith Falls. He served on Carleton Place town council from 1964- 65. He was also a member of the Carleton Place Legion and served overseas with the 30th LAA Battery. Mr Nichols was also a member of the Free Methodist Church. He is predeceased by his father. He is survives by his mother and wife, Georgina. He is also survived by daughters Glenda Ruth of Ottawa, Lois Ann (Mrs Tim Plunkett) of Bancroft, Ontario, Allison Pearl of Carleton Place and by one sister, Lois, (Mrs Jack Wilson) of Carleton Place. Also surviving are sons, Ross Conley of Calgary, Alberta and Paul Alexander of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. He is also survived by brothers, Beverley of Kingston and Howard of Calgary, Alberta and daughter-in-law Sheila and son-in-law Tim. Funeral services were held at Barker's Funeral Home at 2 p.m. on February 3 with Reverend Eldon Babcock officiating. Interment was at Auld Kirk Cemetery. Pallbearers were Greg Wilson, Ken Cooke, Gary Robillard, Bill McGonegal, Garry Boyce and Wilbert Barr.

    Lyle married Georgina RUTH Barr, R. N. on 22 May 1954 in Almonte, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada. Georgina (daughter of James Ross Barr and Pearl Galetaly Fulton) was born on 7 Mar 1928 in Ontario, Canada; died on 13 Feb 2000 in Barrie, Simcoe County, Ontario, Canada; was buried in Auld Kirk Cemetery, Ramsay, Mississippi Mills, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada.
