John Wray married Emma Rachel Farr on 24 Sept 1877 at Woodbridge Ontario. They came to Manitoba with four small children in about 1891, farming in the East Mountain District southwest of the village of Cartwright. When he died, John left a widow, two married daughters and four children ranging in ages from 5 to 16 years old. His widow remarried in 1908.

John's story is told in the local history book "Memories Along the Badger Revisited" (1985) page 525. His death is recorded under registration number 1906-005330 at Manitoba Vital Statistics. His birth date originates from the 1901 Canada census.

John married Emma Rachel Farr on 24 Sep 1877 in Woodridge, Leeds & Grenville County, Ontario, Canada. Emma was born on 4 Aug 1857 in Weston, Toronto, Ontario, Canada; died on 15 Mar 1933 in Manitoba, Canada; was buried in Cartwright, Cartwright-Roblin, Pilot Mound Census Division, Manitoba, Canada. She married John Asa Baumwort on 11 Nov 1908 in Winnipeg. They relocated to a farm near Badger Manitoba until returning to Cartwright where three of Emma's children had remained with their own families.

The family's story is well told in the local history book "Memories Along the Badger Revisited" (1985) page 525. Emma's death is recorded under registration number 1933-012168 in Manitoba Vital Statistics.
