    Wayne Thompson, age 65 years, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 23, 2007, at Royal University Hospital, Saskatoon, following a lengthy and dignified battle with cancer. Wayne will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 42 years, Eleanor; children, Joanne (Norm) Boyes, Kevin (Nancy) Thompson and Kelly (Autumn) Thompson; grandson Ethan Wayne Thompson; father Ruthven Dave; brothers, Robert (Sherry) and David (Susan); and mother-in-law, Anna Lasco. Wayne was predeceased by his mother Florence Thompson; father-in-law, Joseph Lasco; and brother-in-law, Raymond Lasco. Wayne was born on March 31, 1942, In Davidson, SK, He moved at an early age to Saskatoon. Wayne graduated from the College of Commerce, University of Saskatchewan in 1963 and received his Chartered Accountant designation in 1966. He was employed by Touche Ross and Smith Rolls before joining Federated Co-operatives Limited In 1970. Wayne became Chief Executive Officer In 1983 and continued in that position until poor health led to his retirement in 2007. Wayne was extremely knowledgeable in most sports. He especially enjoyed the years he played fastball for K and K Olson. Wayne deeply loved and was very proud of his children. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, May 25, 2007, from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. at the Acadia Drive Funeral Chapel (915 Acadia Drive, Saskatoon). The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2007, at 1:30 p.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church (812 Preston Avenue S., Saskatoon). Interment to follow in Woodlawn Cemeterv. Saskatoon. In lieu of flowers, It was Wayne's wisn to nave memorial donations made to the Alberta Adolescent Recovery Centre, 303 Forge Road S.E., Calgary, AFJ, T2H 0S9.     ?/b?St Andrews Church, Yorkton; was the scene of a double-ring ceremony when Eleanor Joanne, daughter' of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Lasco of Jedburgh, became the bride of Wayne, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dave Thompson of Saskatoon. The Rev. W. E. Schank officiated. The bride wore a floor-length gown of nylon sheer over taffeta. Raised appliques outlined the scalloped bodice and her shoulder-length veil of nylon tulle fell from a crown of aurora borealis and pearls. She carried a single - mauve orchid bouquet surrounded with stephanotis. Bridesmaids were Misses Violet Pametta and Bernice Dabko. They wore blue peau de soie street - length dresses with matching shoes and pillbox hats. The bridegroom was attended by Messrs. Bill Parker and Ray Lasco. Ushers were Messrs. Bob Thompson and Ray Bohach.
    At the reception in the Legion Hall, Misses Beverly Malcolm and Elinor Newman presided at the guest register. Mr. Lou Pavelich, master of ceremonies, proposed the toast to the bride. Following a trip to Penticton, Kelowna, Banff, Calgary, and other points west, the couple will reside at Ste. 2 2015-7th St. The bride and bridegroom are graduates of the University of Saskatchewan.

    Florence Grace Thompson, age 87 years, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 19. 2005, at Parkridge Centre. Florence will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 63 years, Ruthven David; sons. Wayne (Eleanor), Robert (Sherry) and David (Susan); grandchildren, Joanne, Kevin, Kelly, Pamela, Paula, Dylan, Jennifer, Janls, Heather, and Courtney; great grandchild, Nevaeh; brothers, Harold, Lawrence and Howard Butler. She was predeceased by her parents, Norman and Janet Butler; sisters, Gertrude, Janet, and Pearl; brothers, Arthur, Clarence, and Kenneth. This kind and gentle lady, who was a loving and caring wife and mother, always had nice words and thoughts about everyone. Florence was born on May 13, 1918 at Bladworth, SK. She loved her career as an elementary school teacher and superannuated from teaching at 65 years of age, She had a passion for music ana took pride In having her students perform m school pageants and at music festivals. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 22, 2005, at 1:30 p.m. at the Acadia Drive Funeral Chapel (915 Acadia Drive). Interment to follow at Kenaston Cemetery, Kenaston, SK.     ?/b?The passing of Mr. Norman Edward Butler, age 94 years, of Saskatoon and formerly of Bladworth, Sask. occurred at his residence on Tuesday, September 14th, 1982. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 18th at 1 :30 P.M. conducted by Rev. Dr. William F. Clarke from Grace-Westmlnster United Church, 50S 10th Street East. Surviving are: three daughters, Mrs. Dave. (Florence) Thompson of Saskatoon, Mrs. John (Janet) Malcolm of Swanson, Sask. and Mrs. Al (Pearl) Semeniuk of Calgary, Alta.; five sons: Clarence of Saskatoon, Harold of Spar-wood, B.C., Lawrence of Dinsmore, Sask., Howard of Saskatoon and Ken of Swan Hills, Alta.; twenty-six grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. D.A. (Mary) MacDonald of Winnipeg, Man.; and one brother, Harvey of Calgary, Alta. He was predeceased by his wife Janet in 1981, one daughter Gertrude In 1978, one son Ar-'thur while serving In World War Two in 1945 and bv tour sisters and five brothers. The late Mr. Butler was born in Renfrew, Ontario. In 1907 he came west to Bladworth, Saskatchewan where he married Janet (nee McBroom) in 1916 and they farmed In the Knob Hill district until 1956 when they moved to the town of Bladworth. Mr. and Mrs. Butler retired in 1977 and came to Saskatoon where he had since resided. Mr. Butler formed the Valley View Rural Telephone Co., being Secretary from 1911 until the dissolution of the company In 1977. Mr. Butler also served as Secretary of the Knob Hill School District for many years and was an Honorary Life Member of the Davidson Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion. He was active In various community affairs as well as being involved in political and civic affairs and had a keen interest In addition to participating in various sports. Memorial donations may be made to the Grace-Westminster United Church Memorial Fund. The Honorary Pallbearers will be: Roy Palmer, Gordon Palmer, Merril Palmer, Elmer McCreary, Joe Brkich, Hector Nordquist, Lome McCreary, Sterling Hubbs, Jack Ames, Gordon Bessey, Joe Udycz and Harold Barlow. The Active Pallbearers will be: Clarence Butler, Harold Butler, Lawrence Butler, Howard Butler, Ken Butler and Gordon Butler. Interment will take place in the family plot in Woodlawn Cemetery.     The passing of Mrs. Janet Butler age 86 years of R. R. No. 5, Saskatoon and formerly of No. 224 2509 Louise . Street, Saskatoon occurred at her residence on Sunday, June 28th, 1981. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, July 2nd at 2:00 p.m. conducted by Rev. Dr. W. F. Clarke and Rev. E N. Morrison from Grace-Westminister United Church, 505 10th Street East. She later moved to Bladworth, Sask. where she also operated the telephone office until 1916 when she married her husband, Norman Butler. Mr. and Mrs. Butler farmed in the Knob Hill district until 1956 when they moved to the town of Bladworth and in 1977 they retired and came to Saskatoon where they have since resided. Mrs. Butler was a dedicated member of her church, was devoted to family life and was active in various community affairs. Interment will take place in the family plot In Woodlawn Cemetery. Arrangements are in care of Park Funeral Chapel.
