    ?b?Former Bank Manager Dies In Hospital Here?/b?
    The death occurred in the General Hospital on Wednesday, Dec. 12th of ?b?Thomas Kildea Haller?/b? in his 72nd year. He was a retired bank manager and has held executive posts in a number of Ontario towns and cities. Born in Bothwell, Ont, Mr Haller was a son of the late Thomas Haller and his wife. He attended the primary school in his native town and then went to the Collegiate Institute in Chatham. It was here that he began his career in the Merchants Bank which was merged years later with the Bank of Montreal. He opened a branch of this bank in Athens and another in Arnprior. After serving as head in these offices for a time he was transferred as manager from Arnprior to the Rideau St. branch of the Montreal Bank, Ottawa. Later he went to Lachute where he was in charge of the branch for 13 years and then he was sent to Cornwall as manager of the main office in that city. It was there that he concluded his business career and retired. He purchased a residence on Farm Street where he lived until the time of his death, except for a few winter seasons in Florida. In 1921 Mr Haller married Katherine Airth Jamieson and it was then he went to the Ottawa branch on Rideau Street. Deceased was fond of gardening and in his younger days enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Mississippi Golf Club. He belonged to the Masonic Order an in politics was a Conservative. In addition to his wife he is survived by a half-brother, half-sister and a full-sister, namely Joe of London, Ont; Anna of Bothwell and Mrs Fred Shreve of Montreal. The funeral which was a private one, was held on Friday afternoon from the Kerry Funeral Home, Elgin Street to the Auld Kirk Cemetery. Rev D. Leslie Elder of the Presbyterian Church conducted the services. -- Mr and Mrs C.E. Kitts of Renfrew attended the funeral of T.K. Haller last Friday.

    Thomas married Katherine Airth Jamieson in 1921. Katherine (daughter of George Jamieson and Isabella Laventure) was born on 16 Aug 1891 in Renfrew, Renfrew County, Ontario, Canada; died on 18 Nov 1978 in Almonte, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada; was buried in Auld Kirk Cemetery, Ramsay, Mississippi Mills, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada.
