At a local hospital on Tuesday, June 1, 1940, Robert Langford Bond, beloved husband of Rebecca Gallinger, of 68 Second Ave., in his 90th year. Resting at Hulse and Playfair, Ltd. 315 McLeod St., where service will be held in the chapel on Thursday, 20th inst., at 3":30 p.m. Interment at Pinecrest cemetery.

89-Year-Old Twins are Separated by Robt. Bond's Death.
Robert Langford Bond, member of a pioneer Ottawa Valley family and formerly a prominent work in Conservative party circles, passed at a at a local hospital yesterday. He was in his 90th year.
Mr. Bond and his brother Richard N. Bond of Walla Walla, Wash., were believed to be the oldest twins on the North American continent. The two met in Ottawa on Sept., 30, 1937, for the first time in 52 years. At that time they were going to Lanark, Ont., to join in the birthday celebration of their elder brother the late George Bond, who was then 100 years of age.
Born in Carleton Place.
He was born in Carleton Place, a son of the late Joseph Bond and Henrietta Lake, on April 6, 1851. His parents came from Ireland more than 100 years ago At the age of 10, Mr. Bond moved to Almonte and 13 years later he and his brother parted, Richard moving to the West. .

It is unknown how Joseph got to Canada. Henrietta came to Canada in the early 1800's with her father, Joseph Lake and brother, Peter.
Joseph and Henrietta Bond had eleven children, ten living. Other names connected to this family are: Donegan, Perrett Perritt), Barnett, Hopkins, Willoughby, Templeman, thoburn, Gallinger, McInnes, Cooper.

Joseph married Henrietta Lake on 30 Dec 1834 in Carleton Place, Lanark County, Canada West.
