    It is with great sadness that we announce Donald Patterson Johnson, our beloved husband, father and Papa made a swift farewell on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Almonte General Hospital; his birthplace ninety years prior. He is survived by the love of his life for 65 years, Lorna (Jamieson), seven children; Kim Johnson and his son Kyle, Cynthia Cox (Michael) and children Adrian and Ben, Angela Gibson (Randy) and children Lauren, Matt and Michael, Nancy van Veghel (Hugh) and children Tyler, Toby and Timothy, Peter Johnson (Colleen) and children Sophie and Jodie, Alice Brohman (Patrick) and children Daniel, Emily and Sam, Miriam Muir (Jim) and children Olivia, Annie and Isla, sister-in-law Alice Mason and brother-in-law John G. Jamieson. Predeceased by parents Delmer and Ethel Johnson. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, 112 Beckwith St. N., Smiths Falls on Saturday, February 18, 2017 from 12 noon until service in the chapel at 2 p.m. Don was for many years actively involved with both the Children's Aid Society of Lanark County and Trinity United Church where donations may be made.

    ?b?Delmer Johnson Dies Suddenly?/b?
    Funeral services for a well-known Almonte resident, Mr Delmer John Johnson, are being held this (Wednesday) afternoon at the Kerry Funeral Home, Elgin Street. Mr. Johnson, former secretary-treasurer of the Almonte Public Utility Commission, passed away suddenly Sunday morning at the Almonte General Hospital. He was taken to hospital just five hours before his death. Mr. Johnson had been secretary-treasurer of Almonte Utilities for 12 years prior to his retirement in 1967. Burial is being made at the Auld Kirk Cemetery.

    John James Johnson, one of Almonte's nonagenarians passed away at the home of his son, Mr Kenneth Johnson, Malcolm Street, on June 23 in his 91st year. Born at Cedar Hill, he was a son of the late John James Johnson. He lived in the Cedar Hill district until he was about 30 years of age when he moved to Almonte where he has resided ever since. In 1900 he married Miss Mary Jane McKittrick also of Cedar Hill who passed away several years ago. Mr Johnson was employed at the Almonte Knitting Company until ill health forced his retirement. Since that time he lived quietly and took great pleasure in gardening. He appeared to be in his usual health and his death at this time was unexpected. He was a member of Almonte Presbyterian Church. He leaves one daughter, Viola, Mrs C.R. Hodge, Smiths Falls; two sons, Kenneth and Delmer of Almonte, one grandson Donald Johnson of Smiths Falls and six great grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister Elsie, Mrs F.E. Jackson of Busby, Alta and one brother Allan of Carleton Place. The pallbearers were Messrs Carson Johnson, Eric Johnson, Douglas Heise, Arthur Landry, James Brown and Wm Blakeley. Rev D. Leslie Elder, minister of Almonte Presbyterian Church officiated. Among the beautiful floral tributes were tokens from the Heather Club and the W.M.S Presbyterian Church, Almonte General Hospital, Almonte Public Utilities Employees and D.P. Johnson's Employees Interment was in the Auld Kirk Cemetery.

    Final tribute was made to the memory of Mrs John J. Johnson at her funeral on Friday, Feb 12, which was held from the Comba Funeral Home. Rev James M. Ritchie of the Almonte Presbyterian Church conducted the service. Mrs Johnson passed away at her home on Malcolm Street after an illness of three months. She was in her 84th year. Deceased was the former Miss Mary Jane McKittrick, daughter of the late Robert McKittrick and his wife, Rachel Potter, and was born in Pakenham Township. In 1901, she and Mrs Johnson were married and have made their home in Almonte ever since. In 1951, they celebrated their Golden Wedding. Mrs Johnson leaves her husband, one daughter, (Viola) Mrs C.R. Hodge of Smiths Falls; two sons, Delmer and Kenneth of Almonte; one grandson, Donald Johnson of Smiths Falls, and one great grandson Kim Johnson of Smiths Falls. The pallbearers were Messrs. Howard Johnson, Douglas Heise, Arthur Landry, Chas. Houston, Eric Johnston and William Patterson. Interment was in the Auld Kirk Cemetery.

    The death occurred on Monday, January 25th, of Mrs James Johnston, at her home on Ann street, after an illness of three months. Deceased, whose maiden name was Matilda Lowe was in her seventy-first year, and leaves to mourn her loss her husband and seven children, viz.: John J. and Archie, in town; Allan, of Cedar Hill; Lizzie, (Mrs L.R. Robbins), and Wesley, of Toronto; Elsie (Mrs F.E. Jackson), Edmonton, Alta, and Annie at home. The deceased lady was a daughter of the late David Lowe, and was married forty-three years ago. She was a member of the Presbyterian church, and was a kind and loving mother and a good neighbour. The funeral took place on Wednesday afternoon to the eighth line cemetery. The pallbearers were her four sons, John, Archie, Allan and Wesley, and two sons-in-law, L.R. Robbins and F.E. Jackson. Much sympathy is felt for the bereaved husband and family.
