    CARLETON PLACE,?/b? May 20. (Special) The funeral of John James Lesway. who had been failing in health for nearly five years and who died on Friday night. took place from the family residence, Napoleon street yesterday afternoon to Auld Kirk cemetery for interment. Services were conducted by Rev. James Foote. minister of St Andrew's Presbyterian Church. Born in Cedar Hill 75 years ago, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Adolphus Lesway and 24 years ago came to Carleton Place where he was employed with the C.P.R, until his superannuation some years ago. Twice married, his first wife, Mary Fulton, died many years ago. To the union four daughters were born, three of whom are living, Mrs. Percy Wilson, of Carleton Place; Mrs. Andrew Ford, of Appleton, and Mrs. W. R. Svendsen, of Chicago. His second marriage took place in Blakeney to the former Hilda Dunkley, who survives with two daughters, Mrs. Cecil Henderson and Mrs. Leo Kennedy, both of Carleton Place, and five sons, Raymond and Ronald, overseas; James, of the R.C.A.F, Ottawa; Joseph and John, both at home; also one brother. Joseph Lesway, of San Francisco, California. There were a number of floral tributes received.

    James married Hilda Maude Dunkley in 1914. Hilda was born in 1890 in East Haddon, Daventry District, North Hamptonshire, England; died on 19 Nov 1950 in Carleton Place, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada; was buried on 21 Nov 1950 in Auld Kirk Cemetery, Ramsay, Mississippi Mills, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada.     Mrs Hildia Maude Lesway. long a resident of Carleton Place, died in the Almonte Hospital on Sunday after a lengthy illness. She was in her 61st year. Born in England, she was a daughter of the late Mr and Mrs H. Dunkley, and came to Canada about 40 years ago. She was married to James John Lesway of Almonte who predeceased her in 1942. She worshipped at St Andrew's Presbyterian Church. Survivors include five sons, Raymond, of Ramsay; James, of the R.C.A.F., Ottawa, and Ronald, Joseph and John of Carleton Place; two daughters, Mrs Cecil Henderson of Carleton Place and Mrs Leo Kennedy of Appleton; three step-daughters, Mrs Percy Wilson, Carleton Place; Mrs Andrew Ford, Appleton, Appleton, and Mrs Walter Svenson, Chicago, Ill. Also surviving are three brothers, Harry and Raymond, in England, and Charles of Long Lac, Ont; five sisters, Marjory, Mary, Nancy and Edith in England, and Mrs William Wilson of Carleton Place. The funeral took place on Tuesday afternoon to St Andrew's Church where Rev James Foote conducted the service. Interment was made in the Auld Kirk Cemetery, Almonte.

    3. Margaret Helen Lesway was born in 1922; died in 2017.
