?/b?The passing of George Wesley Kidd at Carr, Pringle Township, as noted last week, removes one of the district's best known pioneers and a man who was always held in the highest esteem.

He married Isabella Hamilton of Locksley two years after locating his homestead, and together they cleared the land and made the home which was to be the family abode through the years. The fine brick residence was built about 45 years ago and is and is a well established landmark in the prospeous Carr settlement. Mr. Kidd was a leader in the affairs of his community, and had much to do with the building the first church at Restoule. He was superintentant of the Sunday school for a number of years. Mrs. Cameron was the organist. The pallbearers were Ford Kidd, Milton Kidd, Keith Kidd, Harold Kidd, Denzil Kidd and Arnold Hunt. Interment was in the family plot in Restoule cemetery.
