    Local News ? Mr Charles Patterson, sen., of Carleton Place, died on Sunday, in his eightieth year, and
    was buried in the eighth line cemetery on Tuesday. Death was due to cancer in the cheek, The Herald says: Mr Patterson leaves a wife, six sons and two daughters. The sons are George and Charles, at St Catharines; William here; Albert and Richard in Cleveland; and Robert in Calgary. The daughters are Mrs Robt Cavanagh here and Mrs Francis in Wisconsin.

    Died at Carleton Place Mrs Charles Patterson, who had attained the ripe old age of 88 years, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs R. Cavanagh, on Sunday evening last. The deceased lady, whose maiden name was Jane Lochead, was born in Scotland, and came to his country when quite young. She married Charles Patterson, who predeceased her by five years, and by their union were blessed with a family of eight
    ? six sons and two daughters, all of whom are living except Robert, the youngest. The children are: Geo., New York; William, Carleton Place; Mrs George Frances, Albany, Wis., Albert, in Cleveland; Richard, in Phillipine Islands; Mrs R. Cavanagh, and Charles Patterson, Carleton Place. The deceased lady was a granddaughter of the late Col McLeod, of the 42nd Highland regiment, who fought the war of Independence. She came with her parents to this country, when quite young, they settling in Dalhousie
    township. After her marriage she lived in Perth for nearly 40 years and from the county town came to Carleton Place where she since resided. Mrs Patterson enjoyed good health and was about the house on Friday last. On Sunday evening the summons came and the spirit took its flight. The funeral will take place this afternoon to the 8th line Ramsay cemetery. ? Herald.
