No matter where she was born, she was baptised in Rutherglen, Lanark, Scotland on May 29, 1814.

Agnes married David BARR in 1834 in Renfrew Twp, Renfrew and they were the parents of 14 children.

The STORY of RENFREW by Smallfield & Campbell, 1919, p. 29
    "EARLY MARRIAGES"

Probably the first to be married in the town itself, or in what is now the town, and by a minister instead of a magistrate, were David BARR (father of Mr David BARR of today) and Agnes AIRTH.

This was about a year later than the McINNES wedding; and the clergyman who performed the ceremony was the Rev Burney, the first of the Methodist missionaries. They were married in the AIRTH homestead, near where Mr D AIRTH's stone house now is; and Mr Samuel FORREST was the 'best man.'"

    RENFREW MERCURY - January 28, 1876

SUDDEN DEATH- On Wednesday afternoon, about 4 o'clock, Mrs. Barr, widow of the late Mr. David Barr, died quite suddenly at the house of Mr. John R. Stewart. Mrs. Barr had walked up the street, making several calls, and soon after taking a seat at Mr. Stewart's, fell from her chair, expiring immediately.

Dr. Mann was sent for, and arrived without loss of time; but life was quite extinct.

Mrs. Barr was a daughter of the late Henry Airth, Esq., one of the earliest settlers in the township of Horton. She was highly esteemed, not only by her extensive family circle, but by all the large number of her friends and acquaintances.

The funeral will take place at 1 o'clock this afternoon, from the house of Mr. William Barr, Horton.
