    CHAS. MEACHAM, OAK PARKER FOR 50 YEARS, DEAD
    Charles S. Meacham, 75 years old, died last night in his home at 322 Linden avenue, Oak Park, after a two months' illness. He had lived in the suburb for fifty years.
    Born in Kingston, Ont., Mr. Meacham came to the United States at the age of 19. He was vice president of the Lovell Manufacturing company of Erie, Pa., and head of the Chicago office until his retirement in 1927. Mr. Meacham was a member of the Oak Park Country club and the Delavan Lake Country club, near where he had a summer home.
    Surviving are his widow, Margaret, and three children, Drs. William C. and Herbert F. Meacham, and Mrs. Gilbert Joyaux. Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the home, with interment at Forest Home cemetery.

    Mrs. Margaret Kidd Meacham, widow of Charles S. Meacham, vice president of the Lovell Manufacturing company and a resident of Oak Park for nearly 60 years, died last night in the home of her son, Dr. Hubert F. Meacham, on White Oaks farm in Bartlett. She and her husband both were born in Kingston, Ont., and came to Oak Park after their marriage. Their home until Mr. Meacham's death in 1936 was at 322 Linden av. Surviving are her two sons, Dr. Hubert F. and Dr. William C., Oak Park, team physicians for the Blackhawk Hockey club; a daughter, Mrs. Gilbert Joyaux, also of Bartlett; five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

    William Garland Kidd began his teaching career in 1855 in Lanark County, Ontario. In 1956, he was teaching at a school near Walkerton, Ontario. He returned to school himself and graduated from the Toronto Normal School in 1859. From there, he went to Fergus, Ontario where he eventually was in charge of the school there. In 1872 he received his certificate as an Inspector from the Board of Examiners, enabling him to become an Inspector of Schools in Ontario. Not long after, William and his family moved to Kingston, Ontario where William was employed as the principal first at Johnson Street School and then at the Wellington Street School, Kingston, Ontario. Around 1875, William became the Inspector of Schools for theKingston/Frontenac area.
    William retired in 1909.
