    Dorothy went to be with her Lord on Sunday, July 7, 2013, surrounded by the family she loved so much. Beloved and devoted wife of Bert Lowry for over 62 years. Loved and deeply respected Mother of Allan (Donna), Mary Giles (Ray) and Keith (Susan). Treasured and "very hip" Grandma of Christa, Julie, Brad and Leanna Lowry, Todd Giles (Candy) and Angie Giles and Michelle Brown (Nick), Coady (Mallory), Kyle and Hayley Lowry and dear Great-Grandma of Colby Brown. Predeceased by her caring parents John Penman and Mary Lawson, her loving son Earl, her greatly missed sisters and brother, Ruth Leslie (late Bill), Elsie Richmond (Adrian-surviving) and Jack Penman (Mary- surviving). Dorothy was also a very special and loving aunt, sister-in-law, friend and neighbour. Friends may visit the family at the Alan R. Barker Funeral Home, 19 McArthur Avenue, Carleton Place on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 from 1 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Bridge Street, Carleton Place on Thursday at 11 a.m. Interment Auld Kirk Cemetery, Almonte. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Carleton Place or the Almonte Hospital/Fairview Manor which would be appreciated by the family.

    Beloved wife of the late John Penman. Dear mother of Dorothy (Mrs. Bert Lowry), Almonte, Ruth (Mrs. William Leslie), Toronto and Elsie (Mrs. Adrian Richmond), Dunrobin. Also Survived by 9 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by one son John Charles Penman, by two brothers Jack and William, by one sister Isabel (Mrs. George Stewart) and by one grandson Earl.

    Friends called at the Kerry Funeral Home, 154 Elgin Street, Almonte for visiting on Tuesday. Thence to Almonte United Church at 12:00 noon until service time at 2:00 pm on Wednesday. Rev. S. Derek Shelly officiating. Spring interment Rosetta Cemetery, Rosetta. Donations made to the General Hospital "Rosamond Wing" or the Rosetta Cemetery would be appreciated by the Penman family.

    MRS. CHAS. LAWSON
    Mrs. Chas. Lawson passed away on January 11th, 1947 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Penman of Rosetta. She was born in Almonte on July 12th, 1880, Emma Lodge, daughter of the late Thomas Lodge and Hannah Fletcher of Huddersfield, England. In 1903 she was united in marriage to Chas. Lawson of Cedar Hill and made her home there ever since. Left to mourn her loss is her husband, two daughters, Mary, Mrs, J. Penman, Rosetta; Isabell, Mrs. Geo. Stewart of Ramsay, and two sons, William A. and John C. of Cedar Hill; two sisters, Mary of Toronto and Lottie, Mrs. Geo. Lampros of Belleville and five brothers, James of Unionville; Frank of Buffalo; Thomas of Smiths Falls; George of Liverpool, N. Y., and Jack of Calgary. Joseph of Almonte, predeceased her five years ago. Also left to mourn her loss are twelve grandchildren. The funeral was held on Monday afternoon from her late residence to the United Church Cemetery, Pakenham. The service was conducted at the home and graveside by her pastor, Rev. H. A. Turner. Many floral tributes were received. The pallbearers were: Leonard and Stuart Fulton, John D. Smithson, Howard Lowry, Murray Reid and Clarence Boal. Flowerbearers were: Lloyd and Lyle Reid; Jas. A. Howard and Jas. R. Fulton and Jackie Penman. Mrs. Lawson had been an active worker in community affairs and particularly in church organization.
