    It is with sadness and love that we say goodbye to our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather Robert who passed away February 15, 2017 at the age of 85. Robert is survived by his loving wife Helen; children, Susan Geers, Jim Coxford (Shannon), Les Mazurek (Jean), Sherry Kellas (Terry), and Bonnie Clarke (Troy); grandchildren, Sheldon (Emily), Clayton (Janine),Stuart (Christina), Blake, Lisa (Garnett), Scott (Trish), Melanie (Steve), Josh (Corrina), Tamara, and Brent; great- grandchildren, Rebecca, Sawyer, Chris, Kelli (Josh), Lucas, Tristan, Caroline, and Harmony; and great-great-grandchild Grayson.
    He was predeceased by his wife Shirley.
    Bob spent 37 years as an Esso dealer here in Edmonton until he retired. He and Helen enjoyed many years of travel and camping. Bob also enjoyed golf. He was a kind and loving man, wonderful husband, good neighbour, fantastic grandpa. No service will be held as per Bob's wishes. A gathering to honour Bob's life will be held at a date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, donations made in Robert's honour may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

    Mrs. Margaret coxford, of 10439 139th. St., who opened the first grocery store on Walterdale Flats following the 1915 floods, died Monday.

    Mrs. coxford came to Edmonton in 1905 from dundee, Scotland, and ran a boarding house for the John Walters Lumber Mill which was located on Waterdale Flats, where the Kinsmens Park is today.

    After her marrage to James Coxford in 1908, she and her husband lived in the first house built in South Edmonton. The old home is now used as a place for city archives and a museum, and is located on 93rd. Ave., between 106 and 107th. Sts. on the river bank. She was predeceased by her husband in 1944.

    She is survived by three sons, Herbert and Robert of Edmonton, William of Victoria, B.C.; a daughter, Mrs. H. J. (Ada Mary) Lavoie of Edmonton; also 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

    The funeral service will be held at the Foster and McGarvey Funeral Chapel at 2:30 p.m. Friday. Rev. H. G. Marsh, of Eastminster Presbyterian Church will officiate and burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens.

    Mr. James Coxford, of Blakeney, had been ailing for some time and a couple of weeks ago he went to an Ottawa hospital for treatment but nothing could be done for him, and he returned home last week. From that time he gradually sank until on Wednesday the end came. The deceased was born in London England, and came with his parents to Canada at Ottawa (then Bytown) and here the deceased served his apprenticeship at shoemaking. When a young man he came to Ramsay and spent a year with Robert Gomersall, a tanner, at Blakeney. He afterward opened a shoe shop a Snedden's Corner at the ninth line, about fifty years ago, and removed to Rosebank Messrs James and Thomas McCann. Of a family of eighteen children born to them sixteen are still living, two having died in infancy. John and David are in Rochester; Arch and James, in Vegerville, N.W.T.; Thos. in Carp; Wm. and Mrs. Fulton, in town (Almonte); Mrs M. Snedden, in Ottawa; Mrs. W. Barker, 8th line, Ramsay, and Mrs. Forsythe, Misses Jessie, Mary, Jean and Robt. Alf and Herb, at home. the funeral takes place today (Friday) at 12:30 o'clock to the eighth line cemetery.

    After several weeks of illness following upon the death of her husband, which occured a couple of months ago, Mrs. Jas. Coxford, of Blakeney, passed away on Wednesday at her home in Blakeney, aged 66 (69) years. the deceased was a woman of a very quiet disposition, possessed of a warm heart and ever willing to do a good turn for fried or neighbour. The funeral takes place on Friday at 2 p.m. to the eighth line cemetery.
