    The death occurred suddenly at Rosamond Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, Dec 28th of Walter Herst Morton in his 74th year. He had been suffering from a heart condition for some time but had been about as ususal on Tuesday. About one o'clock in the morning he was stricken and succumbed in the hospital two hours later. The late Mr Morton was born in Ravensthorpe, Yorkshire, England in 1887, a son of the late Mr and Mrs Franklin H. Morton. He came out to Canada in 1907 and settled in Almonte where he became an employee of the Rosamond Woollen Co. Ltd. In 1908 he married Miss Ivy Stanley, a young lady whom he had known in his old home town and who had come to Canada and Almonte in 1906. Mr Morton was with the Rosamond Co. for 45 yeas during the greater part of which he was overseer of the yarn department. For a number of years he was a member of the Town Council serving as chairman of the Finance Committee being very conscientious and he was popular having headed the polls on a number of occasions. He was a member of the choir of St Paul's Anglican Church for many years; a member of Granite Chapter and treasurer of the Almonte Curling Club. He leaves his wife and a family of seven - four boys and three girls, namely; Stanley H.; George Arthur; Lawrence and Reginald all of Almonte; Mrs James Dick (Lillian) Almonte; Mrs Ed. Mallon (Ethel) Ottawa; and Mrs Clayton Watchorn (Marian) Stittsville. Ther are three brothers and one sister living in England; Geo H., W.H.; Lawrence and Lillian (Mrs Thos. Jackson)....The funeral was held on Friday afternoon from the Comba Funeral home to S Paul's Church where a service was conducted by the rector, Rev Canon J.W.R. Meakin. Interment was in the parish Cemetery
