    Suddenly in hospital on Thursday, Sept., 1, 1983, Delmer Baird of Kinburn in his 78th year, beloved husband of Doris Featherstone. Dear father of Iva (Mrs. William Duncan) of Sarnia and Raymond of Arnprior. Survived by 4 grandchildren. Only son of the late Mr. and Mrs. S. E. Baird. Friends may call at the Tubman-Kennedy Funeral Home, Carp, 2 to 4:40 and 7 to 9:30 p.m. on Friday. Service in St. Paul's Anglican Church, 9th line of Fitzroy, Saturday at 2:30 p.m. Buried: Parish Cemetery. Friends desiring may make memorial donations to the charity of their choice.

    Samuel S. (sic) Baird. Kinburn, March 21. - (Special) - The funeral of Samuel E. Baird, prominent farmer of Fitzroy township, was held from his residence to St. Paul's Anglican Church, Ninth line. Interment was in the adjoining cemetery. Rev. R.S.V. Crossley of Fitzroy Harbor conducted the service while graveside service was conducted by L.O.L. No. 57. Six brother Orangemen were pallbearers: D. E. Croskery, J. R.Cavanagh, Fred Smith, Lorne Groves, Ira Owens, George Walker. Mr. Baird, who was in his 68th year, was a son of Mrs. Jesse Draper, of Ottawa, and the late Samuel Baird, of Fitzroy, and had resided all his life in Fitzroy township. For more than 25 years, Mr. Baird had been a trustee of school section No. 11, Kinburn, and had given freely of his time. He was a member of L.O.L. No. 57 and a faithful and devout Anglican. Surviving, besides his mother, are his widow, the former Georgina Baird, and one son, Delmer, at Home; two brothers, Robert, of Red Deer, Calif.(sic), Allan of Westboro; four sisters, Mrs. Min Ross, of Montreal, Mrs. Robert Bowes and Mrs. Christopher Crozier, of Renfrew, and Mrs. Lorne Craig, Westboro. Among the many and beautiful floral tributes were pieces from teacher and pupils of Kinburn Continuation School, S.S. No 11, L.O.L No 57 and staff of the Supreme Court.

    MRS. S. E. Baird, Kinburn (Special) Final tribute was paid this afternoon to Mrs. Georgina Baird, formerly organist of St. Paul's Anglican Church, who died at her home Tuesday after a brief illness at the age of 76. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Baird, pioneers of this community. She was married to S. E. Baird, who predeceased her a number of years ago. For many years Mrs. Baird was a member and an active worker at St. Paul's Anglican Church. She leaves one son, Delmer, of Kinburn; three brothers W. E. Baird, Garnet and Campbell Baird, all of Kinburn; and two grandchildren. Funeral was held from the Kennedy Funeral Home in Carp to St. Paul's Anglican Church for service conducted by Rev. W. Belford. Interment was in the local cemetery.

    BAIRD, George ? Another Fitzroy Resident Dead ? Another old resident of Fitzroy township in the person of Mr. George Baird, passed away on Monday morning at his home in the vicinity of Diamond. The deceased (sic) was in his 81st year and lived in that community all his life. He is survived by his widow, who before marriage was Elizabeth Gourlay, also one daughter and five sons as follows: Mrs. F. C. Baird, Kinburn; John Albert, Torbolton; William Edmund, Arthur, Garnet and Campbell, of Fitzroy. Four brothers ? Dr. J. G. of Riverside, Cal.; Samuel of Torbolton; Robert and William of Fitzroy ? also survive. Another brother, John, died in Fitzroy about two months ago. The funeral took place yesterday afternoon to St. Paul's Church, Diamond, services being conducted by the rector, Rev. Mr. Clarke.

    Death of Mrs. George Baird ? In her 86th year and following a short illness the death occurred at the home of her son Garnet on Saturday, June 23rd, of Mrs. George Baird, a lady well known throughout the Kinburn district and revered by all who knew her. Deceased, whose maiden name was Elizabeth Gourlay, was a daughter of the late William Gourlay and his wife, Margaret Nesbitt, and had resided all her life on the ninth line of Fitzroy. Despite her age, Mrs. Baird was quite active, doing her own housework up to a few weeks ago. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. S. E. Baird, and five sons, John Albert of Kilmaurs, W. E., J. Arthur and Garnet, all of Kinburn, and Campbell on the homestead; four sisters, Mrs. McCurdy of Hazeldean, Mrs. Wm. Green of Pakenham, Mrs. Thos. Guest of Queen's Line and Mrs. Fred Ross of Kinburn; two brothers, F. R. Gourlay of Ottawa and S. G. Gourlay of Vancouver, B.C. The funeral was held Monday afternoon from her son Campbell's residence to the ninth line Anglican Church and cemetery, Rev. C. C. Phillips of Fitzroy Harbor having charge of the services. The following favourite hymns of the deceased were sung: "Unto the Hills," "Lord as to Thy Dear Cross we Flee" and "Rock of Ages." The pallbearers were six nephews, namely, Lloyd Ross, Roy Gourlay, Hilliard Guest, Wm. Gordon, Garnet Green and John Baird. The floral offerings received included the following: Gates a'jar, (Georgina), Mrs. S. E. Baird, W. E. Baird and Garnet Baird; wreaths, (sons), Arthur, Campbell and John Albert Baird; sprays, sisters; cut flowers, Mr. and Mrs. F. R. Gourlay of Ottawa, Mrs. G. Cummings of Westboro, Mrs. Mac McFarland of Renfrew, Mrs. Geo Brown of Richmond, Mr. and Mrs. Horace Stevenson of Kinburn.
