    Obituary:?tab?DRUMMOND, John - Entered into rest at the Brockville General Hospital Charles Street Site on Monday August 6, 2012. John A. Drummond of Brockville age 66 years, beloved husband of 46 years to Colleen (White) Drummond. Loving Dad of Debbie of Orleans and David (Chris) of Calgary. Cherished poppa of Casey, Taylor and Justin. John is survived by 6 brothers, 3 sisters and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Predeceased by his parents Stewart and Doreen (Simpson) Drummond. A private family visitation and funeral service will be held at the BARCLAY FUNERAL HOME 137 Pearl St. Brockville. Interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.     Very largely attended by friends and relatives, the funeral of David J. Drummond, who died on Tuesday morning, Dec 7, 1948, after a very lengthy illness, was held from his late residence, 9th concession of Ramsay, with Rev James Foote, pastor of St Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Carleton Place, conducting the service. Interment was made in the family plot, Auld Kirk Cemetery, Almonte. Mr Drummond was of Scotch descent. His father, Daniel Drummond, came from Perthshire, Scotland, and his mother, Marion McCallum, came from Glasgow, Scotland. He was born on March 1st, 1870, on the 12th concession of Ramsay, and spent most of his life farming. He lived in Carleton Place from 1918 - 1922, then moved to the 9th line of Ramsay. He was a member of St Andrew's Presbyterian Church and at one time a member of the board of managers. On Dec 30th, 1903, he married Jessie Bayne Stewart, who survives with one son, Stewart, and his wife, Doreen, and four grandsons. David, Gilmour, William and John. Four sisters also survive: Jessie, Mrs Robert Dunlop, Carleton Place; Miss Marion C. Drummond, Ottawa; Agnes, Mrs Lawson Stewart, Fitzroy; Mary, Mrs Alex Stewart, McNab; six brothers; William J., Alexander P., Dr Samuel J., Rev Daniel R., George T., and Malcolm G., and one sister (Tena), Mrs J. Chapman, are deceased. Pall-bearers were John M. Chapman, D.H. Lowry, W.H. Hawkins, W.J. Anderson, W.D. Stewart and Robert P. Reid. Among the beautiful floral tributes received were wreaths from the W.M.S. of St Andrew's Church, Buckham and Stewart Construction Co., and Circle No 4, St Andrew's Church Friends were present from Guelph, Shawville, Bristol, Ottawa, Arnprior, Cedar Hill, Almonte, Carleton Place and Ashton.

    David married Jessie Bayne Stewart on 30 Dec 1903 in McNab Township, Renfrew County, Ontario, Canada. Jessie was born in Sep 1876 in Ontario, Canada; died on 9 Sep 1961 in Carleton Place, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada; was buried on 12 Sep 1961 in Auld Kirk Cemetery, Ramsay, Mississippi Mills, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada.
