McCANN, Barbara "Barb" (nee Barr) Suddenly at the Ottawa General Hospital, on Thursday January 3, 2008 at the age of 61. Life long friend of Tom McCann. Loving mother of Lorie McCann, Susan McCann (Robert Larisey), and Bobbi McCann. Adored grandmother of Sam McCann, Charlotte Larisey and Laurel McCann. Dear sister of Lynda (Keith Sweeney), Allan Barr (Joyce), Maxine (Rick Topping), Susan (Paul Shane), Randy Barr (Donna) and Beth (Barry Bulloch). Predeceased by her parents Leonard and Greta Barr. Barb will be especially missed by Terry Julian, her nieces and nephews and all her many many friends. At the familys request, the visitation will be private. Friends are invited to join the family for a time to celebrate Barb's life at the Army, Navy and Air Force, Carleton Place, on Saturday, January 12, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. For those who wish, a donation to the Carleton Place Hospital Foundation or Lanark County Interval House would be appreciated by the family. ELLIOTT, Adeline Mae "Addie" Peacefully at Fairview Manor, Almonte with the family she loved at her side on Wednesday, May 28, 2003, Addie King of Almonte in her 93rd year. Beloved wife of the late Randolph (Dolphie) Elliott. Dearly loved mom of Georgina Blair (Ron) of Pakenham, Ollie Orr (Walter) of Lindsay, Joan Somerton (Lynden) and Diane Brown (Art) both of Almonte. Predeceased by a daughter; Greta Barr and 2 sons; Merrill & Laurie and a brother; Albert. Cherished and much loved grandma of 26 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and many great-great-grandchildren. Fondly remembered by Dianne & Marilyn Elliott; and Don Eriksen.

Died:
Mrs. Carrie King, a life-long Lanark County resident, passed away suddenly but peacefully on February 26, 1977, at the Lanark Lodge, Perth, in her 84th year. Carrie (Lee) was the daughter of the late William Lee and Adeline Munro. She married the late William J. King, who was also a well-known resident of Lanark County. Mrs. King is survived by her only daughter, Addie (Mrs. Randolph Elliott) of Almonte and predeceased by her son Albert. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 11 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A life-time resident of Lanark County, Carrie was born in 1893 at Tatlock where she received her education and became a member of the United Church. She and her husband spent most of their married life farming in that community. Later she spent many years in Lanark where she worked for some time in the Glenayr Mill. Before becoming a resident of the Lanark Lodge, Carrie lived for several years with her son, Albert, in Lanark and later with her daughter Addie in Almonte. Her five years spent at Lanark Lodge were happy and active ones. Carrie acquired a great interest and talent for painting and will be lovingly remembered by the many recipients of her work. In her home at the Lodge, she had many friends among the staff and residents for whom she had great affection. The funeral was held on Monday, February 28, at the Young Funeral Home in Lanark. The service was conducted by Rev. Ron Reid of the Pentecostal Church in Perth. Interment will be in the spring at the United Cemetery in Clayton. Carrie will be greatly missed by many friends both young and old. She was most understanding with younger people and was known as "Grandma" to many young folk. Known for her kindness and generosity, Carrie will be long remembered by relatives and friends alike.
