Word was received here of the death at Maynard, Mass., of Graham Forgie, a former wtll known Almonter. Mr. Forgie died Wednesday following an extended illness. He was born in Almonte, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Forgie.
In the earlier days when lacrosse was booming, Mr. Forgie played on several championship Almonte teams. He. left Almonte many years ago and following some time at Sherbrooke. Que., moved to Maynard, Mass., where he had made his home.
Surviving in addition to his widow, the former Mary Robertson, is one son. Fraser Forgie of Maynard. There are also two sisters and four brothers, Mrs. Alex McLean of Moose Jaw, Sask.; Mrs. R. J. Cowie of Winnipeg; Duncan Forgie of Almonte; John and Robert Forgie, both of Winnipeg, and William Forgie of Toronto.
Interment was at Maynard, Mass.

Graham married Mary C. Robertson on 3 Sep 1902 in Sherbrooke, Estrie Region, Quebec, Canada. Mary was born in 1876; died on 16 Jun 1962 in Everett, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States; was buried on 18 Jun 1962 in Glenwood Cemetery, Maynard, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United states. ?b?OBITUARY - ?/b?Death as again been busy in our midst, and this week it is our painful task to chronicle the demise of Mr. John Forgie, in his fifty-fifth year. The deceased was in the full enjoyment of health less than two weeks ago, but was suddenly seized with congestion of the lungs which rapidly developed into a complication of diseases from which recovery was impossible, and on tuesday last he was called to join the ranks of those who have gone before. The funeral took place on Wednesday afternoon and was largely attended.

John married Jean "Jessie" Hamilton on 27 May 1864 in Beckwith Township, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada. Jean (daughter of William Hamilton and Janet McGregor) was born on 1 Aug 1835 in Ramsay Township, Lanark County, Canada West; died on 5 Jun 1912 in Winnipeg, Greater Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada; was buried in Auld Kirk Cemetery, Ramsay, Mississippi Mills, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada. Word was received on Wednesday of the death of Mrs John Forgie, which took place at the residence of her son, Mr John Forgie, at Winnipeg, on Tuesday afternoon. The deceased, who was 78 years of age, had been gradually failing in health for some time, and her death was the result of the natural abatement of vitality. her maiden name was Jessie Hamilton, and she was born near Carleton Place. A good many years ago she was married to Mr Forgie, and from that time until her removal to Winnipeg six or seven years ago she had lived in this neighbourhood. Of the family born to Mr and Mrs Forgie there are William at Toronto; Graham, Maynard, Mass; Janet (Mrs R.J. Cowie), Ottawa; John, Winnipeg; Duncan, Almonte and Maggie (Mrs Alex McLean), Moose Jaw. There is also Annie (Mrs R.R. McFarlane) Brockville, a daughter of Mr Forgie by a former marriage. A brother of the late Mrs Forgie, Mr Duncan Hamilton is still living at Carleton Place. Another brother Arch Hamilton, went to Chicago some years ago. Mr Forgie died about twenty-five years ago. Mrs Forgie body is being brought to Almonte for interment, and is expected to reach here by the afternoon train on Friday, and the funeral will take place on Saturday at 3 o'clock from the residence of Mr D. Forgie to the eighth line cemetery."

SUDDEN DEATH ? An old and well known resident, Mr Graham Forgie, of Ramsay, and father of Messrs, Forgie bros, of Almonte and Ramsay, died at his son's residence on Wednesday morning last. The old gentleman ate his breakfast as usual and was left in the house all right by his son, who was only out of the house for a few moments and on returning found the father dead. This was the third paralytic stroke from which he had suffered.

Graham married Ann Norris Gemmill on 18 Apr 1826 in Scotland. Ann (daughter of John Gemmill and Ann Weir) was born on 18 Apr 1807 in New Cumnock, Ayrshire, Scotland; died on 8 Jan 1878 in Ramsay Township, Lanark County, Canada West; was buried on 11 Jan 1878 in Auld Kirk Cemetery, Ramsay, Mississippi Mills, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada.
