MONTGOMERY, Garland Edwin "Ed" May 29, 1929 Saskatchewan - March 16, 2019 New Westminster, BC and MONTGOMERY, Elizabeth Estella "Estelle nee Bolitho September 28, 1927 Ontario - August 16, 2014 Burnaby, BC.

Ed and Estelle were married June 27, 1959 at St. Giles United Church in Vancouver. Estelle worked at the Justice Department and Vancouver City Hall, spent many happy hours researching genealogy, enjoyed flowers and reading, delighted in her trips to Cornwall, and loved her family.

Ed was in Korea (PPCLI), worked as a geological technician (UBC), small machine mechanic, sheet metal worker, photographer, and as a prospector. He was a dedicated husband and father who enjoyed a game of hockey now and then.

Estelle is predeceased by mom Elsie (Moyle) and dad Sidney, and Ed is predeceased by mom Margaret (Teel), dad Thomas, and stepdad Arnett Cole.

They are survived by many loving family members, and will be missed by all their friends from over the years.

At Ed's request there will be no service, flowers and donations gratefully declined, please raise a glass and remember Ed and Estelle.

(Medical):About three years ago while taking in a prisoner, Constable Montgomery was kicked in the side during a scuffle, and from this injury cancer developed. He was operated on in hospital Thursday.He died Tuesday following a brief illness in hospital.

MOOSE JAW, Feb. 20 -Thomas Hilton Montgomery, 33, constable on the city police force of Moose Jaw, died Tuesday following a brief illness in hospital.

About three years ago while taking in a prisoner, Constable Montgomery was kicked in the side during a scuffle, and from this injury cancer developed. He was operated on in hospital Thursday.

He was born at Minto, Man., and came to Moose Jaw with his family in June, 1924.

He joined the city police force and remained with the force until August, 1926, when he left to go to Vancouver. Later he returned to the city and and was connected with the police department ever since.

To survive the death are his widow and three children, residing at 1206 Fourth avenue northwest

He was predeceased by his father.

He is survived by his mother, 652 Athabasca street west, six brothers and four sisters, W.G. at Winnipeg; C.E., G.N., J.C., R.J. and E.G., in Moose Jaw; Mrs. F.T. Fairman, Mrs. J.E. Ferrier and Mrs. G.W. Alexander, all of Moose Jaw and Mrs. E.N. Lebell, at Bayend, Manitoba.

The funeral will take place on Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock from Broadfoot?s funeral home, to Rosedale cemetery, Rev. T. J. Hind officiating.

Margaret (nee Teel) Cole, passed away quietly on Sunday, February 7, 1988.

She is survived by 1 brother, Howard, in Medicine Hat Alberta; 1 daughter, Ruth, in Montreal; 2 sons Joe and Ed in Vancouver; her son-in-law Norman and her daughters-in-law, Estelle and Fran; 6 grandsons, Michael, Allan, Darcy, Damon, Trevor, and Shaun; and 2 granddaughters, Dana and Kristin; granddaughters through marriage, Susan and Lina; and by her great-grandchildren, Aidan, Tyrone, and Dylan.

She is survived by her special friends, many of whom called her "Grams", particular affection was in her heart for her longtime friend and physician, Dr. J.R. Watson and those friends and nursing staff who helped to make her last days the best possible.

She lived a long full life rich in love and understanding. She died surrounded by those who loved her and will be sorely missed by all of us.

A memorial service with Rev. Kiely of the Unitarian Church officiating will be held at Boal Chapel, 1505 Lillooet Road, North Vancouver, on Thursday, February 11, at 2 p.m.

Rather than flowers donations to the Salvation Army or to Muscular Dystrophy Research (In memory of her grandson Kevin) would be appreciated.
