    The death of Mr. Harold Alvin More occurred on Friday, November 30, 1973, at the Almonte General Hospital, in his 65th year. Mr. More, who was a retired Dairy Lab. Technician, resided at 240 Ottawa Street, Almonte. He had been employed with the Almonte Dairy, and also with the former Coleman's Creamery at Carleton Place. Born in Ramsay Township, on March 10, 1909, he was a son of the late Charles More and his wife, Katherine Gunn. He received his education at Ramsay Public Schools and Almonte High School, and later attended the dairy school in Kingston. He was married to the former Emma Jean Smith at the Almonte Presbyterian manse on August 27, 1938. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church; his hobby was flowers. Surviving besides his wife, are a son, Earl More of Arnprior; a daughter, Colleen, Mrs. Merrill Metcalfe of Pakenham; three brothers, Milton, Andrew and Charles, of Almonte, and a sister, Mrs. Myrtle Neal of Trenton. He is also survived by seven grandchildren. The funeral was held from the Kerry Funeral Home, Elgin street, on Sunday, December 2nd, at 2:30 p.m., with burial at the Auld Kirk Cemetery. Rev. Douglas McQuaig of the Presbyterian Church conducted the services. Pallbearers were David Neron, Kingston; Deryle Neron, Camp Borden; Doug and Randy Neal of Belleville, and Thomas and John More of Almonte.

    Charles More, a well known and highly respected resident of Almonte died last Saturday at the home of his son in Ramsay. Mr More was taken ill while working with his son Andrew, Saturday morning and passed away shortly afterwards. He was in his 68th year. Born in Ramsay, he was the son of the late William More and his wife Matilda Nicholson. He had farmed in Ramsay for many years, and then retired to live in Almonte. Surviving in addition to his widow, are four sons, Milton and Andrew of Ramsay, Harold and Charles of Almonte; one daughter Mrs John Corkery of Gananoque; and three brothers, James More of Almonte, Donald and Edward of Crystal Falls, Ont. The late Mr More was of a quiet retiring disposition and was well-known and highly respected by a wide circle of friends. The funeral was held Monday from his late residence to the Auld Kirk cemetery. The pallbearers were Messrs Andrew More, Milton More, Harold More, Chas More Jr., Grant Gunn and Stanley More. Rev A.J. Fowlie of the Presbyterian Church of which deceased was a member officiated, assisted by Rev W.J. Scott and Rev Wm Aird. Among the beautiful floral tributes were pieces from the W.M.S. of the Presbyterian Church, the staff of the Producers Dairy and Mr M.J. Black, manager of Producers Dairy.

    Charles married Catherine Gunn in 1895.     The death occurred in Almonte on Thursday March 11th, of Mrs Chas More, at the age of 67 years. Deceased, whose maiden name was Catherine Gunn, was born in Darling Township, a daughter of Mr and Mrs George Gunn. Following her marriage to Mr Chas More, they farmed in Ramsay Township and later retired to live in Almonte. Her husband predeceased her in July, 1942. Left to mourn are four sons Milton and Andrew of Ramsay; Harold and Charles of Ramsay; one daughter Mrs John Corkery of Gananoque. Of her immediate family there are eight brothers and two sisters surviving, namely: Daniel, Almonte, Alex of Arnprior; George of Tatlock; Grant of Ramsay; Bert of Brantford; Ernest of Battleford, Sask., James of Climax, Sask., Stewart of Winchester, Belle, Mrs Wm McDonald of Pakenham and Jeanette, Mrs Wm Rintoul of Tatlock. The funeral will take place from the Comba Funeral Home, Church Street, Saturday, March 13th, at 2.30 p.m. to the Auld Kirk Cemetery. The service will be held at 2 p.m.

    The funeral of Mrs Chas More, whose death occurred on March 11th, was held on Saturday afternoon, March 13, from the Comba Funeral Home. The service was conducted by Rev A.J. Fowlie of the Presbyterian Church of which deceased was a member, assisted by Rev W.J Scott of Bethany United Church. Surviving are four sons, Milton, Andrew, Harold and Charles, all of Ramsay Township and one daughter Myrtle, Mrs John Corkery of Gananoque. The pallbearers were her four sons and two brothers, Alex Gunn, Arnprior and Daniel Gunn of Almonte. Interment was made in the Auld Kirk Cemetery. Among the beautiful floral tributes were pieces from the Producer Dairy, Almonte, and the W.M.S. of the Presbyterian Church. Among those from a distance who attended the funeral were Mr Stewart Gunn, Winchester; Mr and Mrs Howard McBane of Smiths Falls; Mr and Mrs Alex Gunn of Arnprior, Miss Blanche Ring of White Lake and Mr Wm McDonald of Pakenham.

    ?b?A Ramsay Pioneer's Death?/b?
    Ramsay township lost one of its pioneers last Saturday by the death of Mr William More, at the age of 73 years. Deceased had been ill more or less for a year or so, and the last six months was confined to the house most of the time and suffered greatly from a disease of the stomach. for over three weeks prior to his death he did not take a particle of nourishment except water. Born in Ramsay, he lived in that township all his life, and, being thrifty and industrious, he was able to accumulate sufficient of this world's goods to give each of his six sons a comfortable farm and home. He leaves a widow (nee Catherine Nicholson) and the following children: Mrs Edge, Ottawa; Mrs Ledgerwood, in the U.S.; Misses Annie and Kate, on the homestead; John, in Russell township; Edward, of Killaloe; Donald, George, Charles and James, of Ramsay. Three children are dead. The late Mr More was somewhat eccentric in manner, but has a genial streak in his nature that won him not a few friends. The funeral took place on Monday afternoon to the eighth line cemetery, and was largely attended. Rev Mr Hutcheon officiated.

    William married Matilda Nicholson in 1850 in Lanark County, Canada West.     AGED LADY DIES IN ALMONTE STORE
    Mrs Matilda More Met Death
    While Doing Some Shopping on Monday Morning. Mrs Matilda More, and aged lady of the New England section, died suddenly in Mr J.F. Patterson's drug store on Mill St., on Monday morning. She had been doing some shopping and on her way home felt faint. She entered Mr. Patterson's store to rest, and suddenly fell to the floor. Medical assistance was called immediately but life was extant when the doctors arrived. Mrs More, who was the widow of William More, for many years a well-known Ramsay farmer, lived alone. She was eighty-four years of age. The late Mrs More was the daughter of Edward Nicholson, a Scotsman, who settled in Ramsay. She was born at Leckey's Corners. She was married when quite young and lived all her life on the Seventh Line of Ramsay until about nine years ago when she removed to Almonte. She was much beloved and respected. She leaves four sons and three daughters: Mary, Mrs Edge, of Ottawa; Ellen, Mrs Lester, of Colorado; Annie, Mrs J. Andrews, of Ramsay; Edward and Donald, of Smoky Falls, Ont.; Charles and James, of Ramsay. The Funeral, which was largely attended, took place on Wednesday to the Eighth Line Cemetery. Rev S. Gorley Brown, who was her minister, conducted the services
