The death of Mrs Arthur W. McArton occurred in hospital at Calgary on November 27 following a brief illness. She was in her 46th year. The former Eileen Edwards, she was a daughter of Mr and Mrs J.H. Edwards, Franktown road. She was educated here and was married to Mr McArton. The couple had resided in Calgary since 1950. He is the district superintendent of the Canada Colonization Association of the C.P.R. Mrs McArton was a graduate of the University of Toronto and a member of the Alberta Society of Occupational Therapy. She attended Christ Church at Calgary. Survivors includes her parents, husband; three daughters, Lee, Karen and Gwen; one son. John, all of Calgary; two sisters. Mrs F. Fanning of Hull and Mrs D. Stencell of Bancroft. Four brothers. Lloyd Edwards of Kingston; Allan Edwards of Toronto; Lewellyn Edwards of Ottawa and Howard Edwards of town. The funeral was held last Friday from Leyden's Chapel of Remembrance at Calgary, to Carleton Place to rest at the Alan R. Barker Funeral Home, McArthur avenue, for service in St James' Anglican Church on Tuesday afternoon. Interment was made in Auld Kirk Cemetery at Almonte.

Carmel married Arthur William McArton in 1940. Arthur (son of John Arthur Wilson McArton and Mary Jane Doherty) was born on 6 Feb 1914 in Ramsay Township, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada; and died. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
