Mr. and Mrs. P.C. Duncan and Family

Peter Cuthbert Duncan was born in Elma township in Ontario in 1861. He worked on the Ballentyne Farms during his earlier years. He left Ontario and came to Brandon, Manitoba in 1882. Brandon at that time was the western end of the railroad. He was on the police force in Brandon, MB, and became Cheif of Police from 1885- 1891.

Peter came to Estevan, SK. in 1892 and started a livery business. Later he started a grocery store and much later the Duncan Motors. During this period he was a very active member of the School Board. He was mayor of Estevan 1913 to 1917 and magistrate from 1907 to 1921.

Peter Duncan married Jessie McNeil in 1886 and they had a son and two daughters.
Their son, Stanley, worked with his father at Duncan Motors. He married Edna Thompson. Stan passed away in Edmonton, AB.
His eldest daughter Joan was married to Kenneth MacIvea who passed away in 1947.
Jessie Duncan married Richard Stanley who died in 1955. The two sisters live in Victoria, B.C.

Peter married Jessica McNeil in 1892. Jessica was born on 30 Jun 1865; died in 10 Mar; was buried in Toronto, York County, Ontario, Canada. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
