She leaves to mourn her loss, two daughters, Mrs Alex Barker and Miss Lucy McGill of Ottawa; and three sons, Messrs James, Jack, and Thomas McGill, all of the vicinity. In her declining years, Mrs McGill was faithfully attended by all members of the family and truly she appreciated such care. Mrs McGill possessed heart and sympathetic view that made her an invaluable companion, not only to those within the home but to friends and neighbours alike. Her simplicity, cheerful outlook, and sound feminine judgement found every difficult obstacle of life removed when the right principles were applied. Herself brought under the trials that come from natural causes in this life, she bore all with courage and fortitude because she was strong in that quality of character which raises above pain and disappointment. During all those years of happy home life there was created and developed a wealth of love and affection that made the hour of separation by death all the more difficult for those who mourn her loss. She was honoured by all for her deep religious fervour, for her broad interest in all missionary endeavours regardless of creed or denomination, and particularly for her rare generous and unselfish nature. Many have been those she helped over the rugged paths of life. She will be missed, but will remain in the hearts of friends as long as faith shall last. Well and truly might it be said of Mrs McGill "Her life was an inspiration and her memory had become a benediction."

Tragic Death Of Ramsay Farmer
Young Man Falls Under Tractor While Operating It Near Home
Friends of Almonte and district were shocked, Thursday evening, Oct 17th, to learn of the tragic death by accident of Mr William Earle Simpson, wellknown young farmer who resided on the Ninth Line of Ramsay. Mr Simpson had been plowing in a field not far from his house and when time came for the evening meal, about five o'clock, Mrs Simpson thought it strange he did not shut off the tractor and come home. No Inquest Necessary The coroner, Dr A.A. Metcalfe, was summoned and he found the victim of the accident had sustained a broken neck. No inquest was considered necessary. It is thought Mr Simpson must have slipped off the platform of the tractor while standing up or leaning forward. In this way he would fall in front of one of the drive wheels. It was a new machine having been purchased about a month ago. Funeral of Mrs Edward James
A last tribute of esteem and respect was paid to the memory of the late Mrs Edward James, Friday afternoon, March 7th, at her funeral which was held from the family residence on Reserve Street, to Bethany Church and the Auld Kirk Cemetery. The church was filled to capacity, many of those present being members of the congregation among whom she had served so faithfully in the various women's organizations. The pastor, Rev W.J. Scott, conducted the service, taking as his text the words: "Weep not; she is not dead." Because of the prominence of deceased in church work, Mr Scott, made a direct reference to some of her fine qualities. He told of her association with the various branches of the congregational organization and stressed the cheerfulness with which she devoted her time to these activities. There was nothing grudging about the way Mrs James performed the various tasks that she undertook. Her only regret seemed to be that she had not more time to place at the disposal of the church and its interests. Death came to Mrs James at the Rosamond Memorial Hospital, after a brief illness. The pallbearers were Messrs O.L. James, Lorne James, Ross Barr and Arnold Metcalfe of Almonte, Clare Syme of Ramsay and Jas Crawford of Carleton Place. The sympathy of many friends goes out to the bereaved husband and the brothers and sisters of deceased.
