6015 Evelyn "Evie" Lucille Musolf, 92, passed away at her home in East Wenatchee on Tuesday morning, October 13, 2015, surrounded by family. She was born on August 26, 1923, in Hibbing, MN, to Ernest and Alice Peterson. She and her sister Eleanor, identical twins, were the youngest of five siblings. She attended schools in Hibbing, and after graduating from Hibbing High School in 1941, she went to work for the Army Corp of Engineers in Washington, DC, then later in St. Paul, MN. She moved back to Hibbing and worked the next few years for Haley Young Manufacturing Company and the Boy Scouts of America in the Hibbing area. In 1960, she married Edward Musolf in Minneapolis, MN. The couple combined their existing families of two sons and four daughters, moved to East Wenatchee, WA, and there had a daughter together. She served as the secretary of Grace Lutheran Church, and later worked with Ed at Nuchief Sales, a local fruit brokerage company. Evelyn was active in many organizations, over the years, in the Wenatchee area, including: Extension Homemakers, Doll Club, Attic Dusters, Bowling League, and Camera Club. She was an avid amateur photographer, and continually impressed family and friends with her many portraits and nature photos. She enjoyed periodic trips to northern Minnesota, "God's country," especially visiting the family's lake cabin. She loved to get out on the lake early, catch fish, clean them and fry them up for the family. A long-time collector, Evelyn was a master at discovering hidden treasures at yard sales and thrift shops. She and sister Eleanor would go from sale to sale, and then periodically set up booths at flea markets to resell their items. The two of them personified the phrase, "we buy junk; we sell antiques!" She passed along this particular talent to daughter, Beth, and the two of them operated an antiques and collectables booth at Thorp, WA, and later at Apple Annie's in Cashmere. Evelyn loved to play cards with her family every opportunity she could get. There was really only one card game, officially known as contract rummy, but usually referred to as grandma's game, or simply, "the game." Her deft ability to draw the right cards when all hope seemed lost (one of her favorite sayings), combined with her quick, sarcastic wit, made the game a "must do" at family gatherings. In fact, many of her grandchildren felt it was not even worth playing unless grandma was playing.

~She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Musolf; brothers, Al Peterson, Earl Peterson; sister, Harriet Cordell; her son, Robert Swanger of Hibbing, MN; daughter, Barbara A. Musolf and two grandchildren, Carrie Brown and Ricky Musolf. She is survived by her sister, Eleanor Foster of Boise ID; son, Ronald Musolf (Gabe) of Snohomish, WA; daughters: Barbara E. Brown (Darrell) of Bowie, MD; Joanne Conchieri (Brian) of Essex, VT; Jeanne Lodge (Ron) of Wenatchee, WA; and Beth Andrews (Jim) of Ellensburg, WA. She also leaves behind eighteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, and was anticipating the arrival of two additional great-grandchildren. There are also numerous nephews and nieces, and Evie maintained a special bond particularly with Eleanor's four daughters and their families.

~A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, October 23, 2015, at Telford's Chapel of the Valley on Grant Road in East Wenatchee. The family would like to thank Central Washington Hospital Hospice, especially Alison, Carla and Nicole, for all their help in making Evelyn comfortable in her home during her last days. Memorial gifts may be made in Evelyn's name online or via mail to Confluence Health Foundation/Hospice 518 N. Chelan Ave, Wenatchee, WA 98801.

6030 Excerpt from The STORY of RENFREW by Smallfield & Campbell, 1919, page 29

"Elisabeth (Lizzie) AIRTH and Angus McINNES were married March 22, 1833 by a Captain Bell at the British Army post at Castleford, as there was no church in Renfrew.

Mr Alex STEWART (bachelor Sandy) was groomsman and Jessie FORREST (afterwards Mrs Lawrence NAISMITH) was bridesmaid.

They all drove back from Castleford in 2 rigs, or "trainneaus" and their home-coming was celebrated by the firing off of powder and the giving of a dance.

Theirs was the 1st marriage in which both the parties were of the younger generation of Renfrewites."
__________

Angus and Lizzie were the parents of 9 children.

According to descendants, Elisabeth was popular as a midwife, with a number of babies in the Goshen area being named after her.

6031 Excerpts from The Calgary Weekly Herald, November 7, 1901:

DIED--At the general hospital, Calgary, on Wednesday, October 30, 1901, Millie, the beloved wife of Thomas Jackson.
---
One of the most impressive funerals ever held in Calgary was that of the late Mrs. Jackson on Sunday afternoon. The Methodist church was filled on the sad occasion and the solemn service was conducted by the Rev. Fred Langford, who still shows traces of his long illness, which, as our readers know was of the same character as that which carried off Mrs. Jackson leaving six young children motherless. During the service Messrs. Tood, Walt and McAra sang a touching trio "Gone to Her Rest."
