  	1950, Thursday March 16 The Almonte Gazette page 3 Edward Moore The death occurred at his home of John Street, Almonte, of Edward Moore, following a lengthy illness. He was in his 91st year. Mr Moore was born on the 7th line of Ramsay, son of the late William Moore and his wife, Matilda Nicholson. As a young man, he moved to Carleton Place where he was employed by the Canadian Pacific Railway. Later he moved to Sturgeon Falls to take up farming, and returned to Almonte in 1947. In 1879 he married Agnes Jane Hastie of Carleton Place, who died in 1897. Of this union, there were born two sons and two daughters. At Crystal Falls, he married Martha Marshall of Almonte who survives. Also surviving are two sons, William of Florida and David of South Lanacaster, Mass; one daughter, Sarah, of Vancouver. One daughter, Mary, (Mrs Sidney Lawford) died last July. Also surviving is one brother, Donald Moore, of Main St, Almonte. The funeral took place on Wednesday from his late residence, John Street, to the Auld Kirk Cemetery
