The death occurred at Chapleau, Tuesday morning, of Mrs James Encil, a former Almonte resident. The late Mrs Encil had been in poor health for some time but her death was quite unexpected. Deceased, whose maiden name was Laura Scott, was born on the 8th line of Ramsay, the daughter of the late James Scott and his wife, Maria Scott. Twenty-five years ago she was married to James Encil and the couple moved to Chapleau, where Mr Encil was employed as a railroad engineer. They had lived there since. Mrs Encil attended St John's Anglican Church in Chapleau and was an active member of the W.A. Left to mourn her loss besides her husband are four children, Kenneth, Percy, Florence and Wilber, all of Chapleau. Also left to mourn her loss are her mother, Mrs Maria Scott and two sisters, Lillian and Edna of Almonte. The body arrived in Almonte this Thursday morning on the 5.36 train and the funeral was held this afternoon from the home of deceased's mother, to the Auld Kirk Cemetery, Rev A. McLauchlin of Trinity United Church conducting the services. The pallbearers were J. Coulter, L. Nolan, H. Coxford, L. Watson, Wm Rae and Melville Paul. Among many beautiful floral offerings from friends in Chapleau, Almonte and other points were the following from various Chapleau organizations: Orange Lily Lodge No 10, L.O.B.A.; Missinable Lodge, I.O.O.F. ; Division 319, B. of L.E.; St John's W.A.; Manager and staff of Smith and Chapple, Ltd; and students and staff of the high school.
