- COXFORD Evelyn Lenore (Brovold) (Auntie) passed away at Estevan, Saskatchewan at St. Joseph's Hospital on Monday, December 20, 2004 at the age of 85 years Predeceased by her husband Ken, parents Leonard and Minnie, brother Herman, sisters Alice and Lillian, niece Gail and nephew Stuart. Survived by nieces Carol (Philip) McCandiess, Vancouver, B.C., Alice (Curt) Field, Oakville, ON, Karen (Vic) Forbes, Calgary, AB, Maureen (Robert) Baumgartner, Estevan, SK, Kathy (Dan) Dahl, Saskatoon, SK, and nephews Don (Myrna) Hard, Ottawa, ON, and Allan (Linda) Brovold, Lethbridge, AB, as well as numerous great nieces and nephews. Evelyn was born on October 1, 1919 near Macoun, SK. She was raised on the family farm and enjoyed rural life in her early years. The family moved to Estevan where Evelyn attended elementary school and then EC I. Evelyn was diagnosed with tuberculosis in her youth and spent several years in Fort San. She developed life long friendships during this time. Her character was shaped by this difficult experience. She returned home to Estevan to complete her recovery. During this time she met and then married Ken Coxford in 1952. Their union was shortened by Ken's untimely death in 1964. Evelyn entered the work place and applied her skills in several small businesses, always improving her career. She joined SaskPower where she worked for 18 years until her retirement in 1984. Evelyn was the ULTIMATE sports fan - although never a participant, she attended all sorts of major sporting events hockey, baseball and football and her beloved Estevan Bruins. She followed her favourite teams on T.V. and was conversant in all areas of sports talk. Evelyn was a long standing member of the T rinity Lutheran Church and active in the ELW, attending or hosting Circle meetings and participating in all activities with her church family. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, December 29 at 11:00 am. from Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor K. Schmitke officiating. Interment will follow at Souris Valley Memorial Gardens. If friends so desire, memorial gifts may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church. Arrangements are In care of the Orsted Funeral Home, Estevan.
