Neilson The death of Mrs Elsie (Craig) Neilson occurred suddenly at the Almonte General Hospital on Friday, April 25th, 1969, as the result of a stroke. Born at Rosetta, Ontario, November 13th, 1901, she was the daughter of the late Adam Craig and Mary Arnott. In 1916 her family moved to the eleventh line of Ramsay, where she lived until June 27th, 1923, when she was united in marriage to John Burns Neilson. To this union was born four children, Wilfred Ross, Almonte; William John Lorne, Kingston; Alice May (Mrs Wilmer Melanson), Pakenham, and Marion Elsie (Mrs Bert Timmins), Blakeney, who survive along with her husband, Also felt to mourn are ten grandchildren and her only brother, A. Ross Craig, Almonte. They farmed on the twelfth line of Ramsay until 1955 when they retired to 178 Church Street, Almonte. She was a faithful member of the United Churches in Appleton and Almonte and a Charter Member of the Appleton Women's Institute. Funeral services were held from the Kerry Funeral Home to the Auld Kirk Cemetery on Sunday April 27th. Pallbearers were John L. Virgin, J. Alex Stewart, Mack James, and three cousins, Robert Arnott, Grant Arnott and Elmer Goodfellow.
