  	Most records, including her Ontario marriage registration, indicate that Jane was born in Ireland, but a few do show she was born Ontario. The 1901 Canada census records her date of birth as July 12 1839, but that contradicts the birth year inscribed on the headstone, and is no doubt incorrect.
