Beloved husband of the late Shirley Simpson. Dear father of William J. May Jr. Loving grandfather of Jason and Allison. Brother of Philip, Larry and Laura Lee Murphy (Bryan). Bill will be sadly missed by his 3 sisters-in-law, Betty Benoit, Sheila Whitmore and Willa Monette (Ray). Mr. May received his education in Ottawa and chose electricity as his career. He joined the firm of Tresider and May. After the death of his partner he formed a new company, May Electric Ltd., with Gyro Construction as a subsidiary. After many years he left the businesses and spent 11 very happy years in Public Works Canada and retired as Senior Technical Services Officer. Bill was active in the Masonic Order and was a 50 year, Life and Past Master of his lodge. He was appointed District Secretary in 1950 and was appointed Very Worshipful Brother in 1951. He was a Life and 50 year member of the Ancient and Accpeted Scottish Rite, the Ottawa Lodge of Perfection, Rose Croix. Bill will be remembered as an avid golfer, having won Club Championships and Senior Championships during his golfing years. A private service will be held at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes.
