  	1940, Thursday August 29, The Almonte Gazette page 5 ?b?Mrs Peter Cochran ?/b?The funeral was held, this Thursday afternoon, of Mrs Peter Cochran who passed away at the Rosamond Memorial Hospital, Almonte, on Tuesday, in her 81st year. Deceased, whose maiden name was Adeline Rule, was born at Rothsay, Ont., a daughter of the late William Rule and his wife Esther Watchorn. Some 54 years ago she married Mr Peter Cochran, well-known Ramsay Farmer, and resided in that township ever since. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Mr Wilbert R. Cochran of Ramsay. A daughter Mrs Thomas Somerton, predeceased her several years ago. There are also, a brother and two sisters namely, Robert Rule, Toledo, Ohio; Mrs J.R. Fair of Winnipeg and Mrs Norman Binning of Listowel, Ont. Mrs Cochran was a very fine woman, much esteemed in the community where she resided for so many years. She was a member of the Almonte Presbyterian Church and took an active interest in its welfare. Four grandson acted as pallbearers at the funeral. Robert and Harvey Cochran and Fred and Wilbert Somerton of Pakenham. Interment was made in the Auld Kirk Cemetery, Rev A.J. Fowlie conducting services at the home and graveside. Among the floral offerings were tributes from the N.L.A.S., in which she and her husband took a keen interest; the United Farm Women of Ramsay and the W.M.S. of the Presbyterian Church.
