  	Ottawa Journal - July 2, 1926 - Robert J. Maxwell Was Widely Known - Had Business on Bank Street For Many Years. The death of Robert J. Maxwell at his residence, 569-1/2 McLeod Street, occurred yesterday, after a protracted illness. Mr. Maxwell was well known in mercantile circles in this city, having been for 30 years the owner of a leading meat business, conducted under the same name. Mr. Maxwell was born in North Gower, 68 years ago. He was in the meat business in Manotick for some years and was well known throughout the surrounding country. He later moved to Ottawa and conducted a meat store on Bank Street for 20 years, establishing a fine reputation for upright business principles. He was a member of St. Luke's Anglican Church. Besides his wife, Mr. Maxwell is survived by six daughters, Pearl, at present in New York, USA; Mrs. Mabel Smith, a nurse in Middletown, N.Y.; Mrs. H.T. Hill, Ottawa, and Ada, Gertrude and Grace, all at home, and by five sons, Ernest, Alfred and Clinton, living in the West, and George and Erskine, of Ottawa. The funeral will be held from the house Saturday at 2:30 pm. Interment will be made in Beechwood cemetery.
