Archie Mick
The funeral of the late Archie Mick, who passed away in hospital in Jackson, Michigan, on Tuesday, July 13th, was held from the Kerry Funeral Home, Almonte, last Saturday afternoon, with interment at Auld Kirk Cemetery. Services were conducted by Rev W. Henley of Pakenham United Church. A son of the late John Mick and Agnes Sutherland, he was born at Micksburg, Renfrew County, 72 years age. He had resided at Jackson, Mich., since July, 1927, and was married to the former Violet E. Syme of Blakeney in December, 1927. Besides his wife he is survived by a son, Donald of Santa Clara, California and two grandchildren. Surviving members of his family are: Sadie, Mrs Burton Dowley and Calvin Mick of Jackson Michigan; Clara, Mrs D. McIntosh and Hazel, Mrs D. Brown, of Fort William; Gladys, Mrs Alex Holms, Port Arthur; Orie, Mrs Mills, Warren; Isabella, Mrs Kiely, Eganville; and Verla, Mrs A. Sutherland, Pembroke. Pallbearers at the funeral were five nephews and a brother-in-law, Bill Mick, Jackson Mich.; Gerry Whitike, Port Arthur; Glen Syme, Brockville; Ted and Clare Syme of Almonte, and Alen Sutherland of Pembroke. Attending the funeral were Mr and Mrs Donald Mick and son of Santa Clara and friends from Jackson Mich., Pembroke, Eganville, Micksburg and Port Arthur. A funeral service was held at Jackson on Thursday, July 15th, prior to bring the body to Almonte.
