Snedden in his 79th year. About two years ago Mr Snedden suffered a slight paralytic stroke and his death in the Rosamond Memorial Hospital here, occurred after a few days' illness following a similar seizure on Friday last. Deceased was born on the 8th line of Ramsay Township, a son of the late John Snedden and his wife, Anne Lindsay. In his youth he worked in Almonte for James Robertson and later went to Belleville where he took a business course. He also worked for the J.R. Booth Company, Ottawa. Some 45 years ago he went to Minneapolis, where he spent four years, afterwards going to Shaver Calif., where he engaged in lumbering. About 30 years ago he purchased an orange grove at Strathmore Calif. and at the same time he operated a garage at Big Creek. Because of ill health he returned to Almonte, to be with his relatives, in April, 1942 and for a time made his home with his sister-in-law, Mrs D.E. Snedden and latterly he lived with his niece, Mrs W.J. Warren in Carleton Place. Of a family of ten, three sisters survive, Mrs Grenville Toshack (Annie) of Ramsay; Miss Agnes Snedden, Mrs Franklin Turnbull (Margaret) of Regina, and a number of nieces and nephews. The funeral was held today (Thursday) from the residence of Mrs D.E. Snedden, Church Street, and interment was in the Auld Kirk Cemetery. Rev W.J. Scott officiated, assisted by Rev Wm Aird. The pallbearers were John Toshack, Robert Toshack, Ernest Robertson, Peter Syme and Geo Warren and Gordon Bennett of Carleton Place.
