  	Esther Ellen Keyes was the daughter of George Keyes and his wife Mary Ann May. She married Richard Whitney Garland, son of Patrick Garland and his wife Eliza Whitney, on September 24, 1884. Esther and Richard had one daughter, Helen Elizabeth Garland, born June 6, 1896. Helen died 11 days later. Esther died 9 days after giving birth to her daughter Elizabeth , and one day after Elizabeth died.
